Here’s the scoop:
- The Hyatt Gold Passport – MGM M Life partnership is the richest in Las Vegas. It lets you earn and redeem points across both programs, and get status recognition too.
- You can get Hyatt Platinum status just for having the Hyatt Visa. And Hyatt Platinum gets you Gold status and recognition at 12 resorts in Las Vegas – upgrades, priority checkin, buffet line passes, VIP night club access.
- Hyatt Diamonds get even more (I love skipping the taxi queue).
- There’s a new website for this relationship that features free room, points, and experience giveaways.
I’m giving away 75,000 Hyatt Gold Passport points to a reader drawn at random from those leaving comments on this blog post, continue reading to learn more.
Last year Hyatt introduced a partnership with MGM M Life that was really revolutionary in the hotel industry.
Hyatt Gold Passport and MGM M Life offered both reciprocal points earning and redemption, and also elite status recognition, in what amounted to a hotel alliance (akin to the major airline alliances).

The fountains in front of the Bellagio
Las Vegas was a clear gap area for major chain hotels. IHG had Venetian, Starwood a Westin, Hilton an off-strip property. Starwood subsequently introduced their own partnership with Caesars but it was less extensive, not earning status nights or receiving status recognition across the chains.
In one swoop Hyatt Gold Passport had the best presence in Las Vegas, and MGM had its own global footprint for M Life members as well.
They’ve just launched a digital hub that will help travelers explore Vegas and make the most of the Hyatt Gold Passport and MGM M life relationship.
There’s daily content and regular giveaway opportunities like free nights at M life resorts, Hyatt Gold Passport points, and show tickets.
And to encourage you to check it out, Hyatt has offered to let me give away 75,000 Gold Passport points to readers.
- Go to the new Hyatt-MGM Las Vegas digital hub
- Just leave a comment on this blog post to enter to win.
- Your comment should be what feature on the site you’re most interested in for Las Vegas.
- This opportunity will remain open through Saturday, July 19 at noon Eastern.
- You can enter up to 4 times. (The contest is open for four days, although your maximum of 4 entries can be right in a row or spread out however you wish.)
- One winner will be drawn at random by me. All judgments and rulings of mine are final and unappealable. And you agree to that by entering. I’ll reach out to the winner by email for name and Gold Passport number in order to get the points posted.
So… who wants 75,000 Hyatt Gold Passport points? That’s enough for 3 nights at even the most expensive M Life resort in Las Vegas (or a whole lot of nights somewhere else).
Just share what Vegas experience interests you most on the new the new Hyatt-MGM Las Vegas digital hub in the comments.
- You can join the 40,000+ people who see these deals and analysis every day — sign up to receive posts by email (just one e-mail per day) or subscribe to the RSS feed. It’s free. You can also follow me on Twitter for the latest deals. Don’t miss out!

My favorite potential-feature on the website was the entertainment section, accessible by clicking on the toolbar docked vertically on the lefthand side. The options shown when clicking the “Entertainment” button were comparatively most appealing. However, I think they probably covered only 10% of the true entertainment options available to Hyatt guests! There’s definitely room for improvement in advertising the entertainment options available to Hyatt guests.
Looking forward to see the entertainment deals.

The most visually appealing portion of the website was the Bellagio fountains (of course). (featured in “By the Numbers: Las Vegas Fun Facts & Stats)
A close second is the photo of the chandeliers of Mandalay Bay miX.
The other photos could’ve been more appealing. For example, the photo advertising scrumptious steak showed only an empty restaurant. What? If nothing else, show the scrumptious steak!
(All the above-mentioned photos are accessible by clicking the website’s Home tab.
Swimming with the dolphins would be a unique experience.
Sightseeing tours
I stayed at the Bellagio last year right after the relationship between hyatt and MGM began. The reservation/upgrade/status process was confusing for the hotel and customers at that time. I am hopeful that the new site will make this much clearer now.
The 35 mph zip-line “ride” 1700 feet above ground on the SlotZilla is not something I would personally be bvrave enough to attempt, but I sure would like to watch someone else do it!

I absolutely love the pictures of the hotels at night. They are so breath taking. I have the say that the Bellagio is probably my favorite. I have stayed in rooms that are larger but the view from my room at the Bellagio was the most beautiful and romantic.
the terrific buffets
The 6.5 acre lazy river at the MGM looks fun.
I like the Top 10 random things to do in Vegas. I have been to Vegas many, many times but I always find something new to do and I always want to go back.
Some of the article titles didn’t draw my interest, but one that I clicked on immediately was called “Best Pools in Vegas: Coolest Lounges to Hottest Parties”.
Although not much of a party animal myself, I’m always a sucker to see the newest-and-greatest swimming pools.
1. Aria got the top billing, but looked somewhat dull (although refined).
2. MGM’s aerial view of their lazy river: winner! (Hint: a lazy river always wins.)
3. Bikini Ball at Mandalay Bay: makes me wonder if any of the people in the photo work for a living.
4. Bellagio’s VIP pool: looks as boring as Aria, but am curious about the “chilled towels”.
5. Mirage’s European Escape — the key word here is “topless”. And I am a straight female, so no sexual bias in my comment. The pool appears to be miniature, but I like it’s attitude.
Based on the article, which pool would I choose? Mirage’s. Would I go topless? Maybe only after staying there a few weeks. I’m not that bold. But like I said, ya gotta respect the attitude.
Give me more!

The search feature had some difficulties. When I first clicked on it, nothing happened. After the 3rd or 4th click, and black searchbox appeared. I typed in buffet, but the page that loaded was blank. I tried a few more times, but still just a blank website. Perhaps Hyatt has no buffets? I guess I’ll never know (from this site).
I like the best pools section.
I also like the swim with the dolphins.
As a lover of fun facts I love that now I know that 2,400 pounds of confetti is launched each year in the nightclub. I am definitely using that as a pick up line next time.

Website arrangement: The column of buttons on the lefthand was great use of landscape-screen real-estate. So much functionality, tucked away nicely on the left side. Yet, most of us “surfers” don’t focus much attention on the left side. I myself had perused the website several minutes before ever noticing all those left-side buttons.
And truthfully, had I not been inspired by Gary to give the website a lookover, I probably wouldn’t have EVER seen that leftside toolbar.
SUMMATION: If you want viewers to click buttons, put them across the TOP.

I liked the article about the coolest pools in Vegas. Can’t wait to jump in
I love the social media integration
After clicking many different buttons & photos on the website, I must say this isn’t a website I’d linger on, if I happened upon it accidentally. It leaves me asking “What’s your point?”
I get the feeling these photos were assembled by a kid rather than a marketing team.
In no way do I mean to be insulting to anyone involved. I gave it a great effort, but unfortunately I didn’t understand the point of the website. It was like reading a paragraph without the main sentence. I certainly didn’t feel inclined to stay at Hyatt after viewing all the photos & buttons. If anything, I’m left reminiscing about things not shown. Pining away for Fremont Street, the neon, the character impersonators, the shrimp-bar strippers, the zipline, the buffets(!), the street concerts, THE CONVENIENCE. I’m confused about the intent of MakeVegasYours.com website.

I’ve always wanted to swim with dolphins. Who knew you could do that in Vegas?
“Top 10 Suprising(ly random)Things to Do in Vegas”
I bypassed this article for 1/2-hr because the title sounded over-promising & salesman-y.
However, after purusing the website far longer than it warranted, I clicked on the headline. Surprisingly, it was worth the click. Most of the listed items were activities I honestly might consider. They were right on the edge of “too expensive/exclusive” for me, but still, they were viable entertainment options. And if I was staying in Vegas, I might actually consider one of them. They seemed more realistic than most Hyatt-sponsored activities.
I love the breakfast at Hyatt as well!
Liked the wine section!
The food for sure!!!

My wife believes the dolphin trainer for the day is a top pick. Very few place to make that a reality.
I really enjoyed the “By the Numbers: Las Vegas Fun Facts & Stats” post but then again I have a thing for numbers.

I’ve never been to Vegas, but I’ve heard a great deal about the fact that it is much more family friendly now than ever before. By glancing at the MakeVegasYours site, I saw “5 Ways To Get Your Art Fix in Las Vegas” that really peeked my interest! I’d love to check out First Fridays and the Painting Women exhibition! Others interested can see it here: http://makevegasyours.com/5-ways-to-get-your-art-fix-in-las-vegas-59442
Swimming with dolphins!!!
best burgers & brews
I also really liked the article: “Role Reversal: A New Way to Explore Vegas” as it gives a daily breakdown of some fun things to do in Vegas without falling into gender stereotypes. I’m not an up-all-night-drinking-my-life-away kind of guy, and the Culinary Classroom at Bellagio sounds much more like my style! Likewise, with Cirque shows all along the strip, seeing Zumanity would be a beautiful display of bodies and art! You can read more things to do here: http://makevegasyours.com/role-reversal-a-new-way-to-explore-vegas-58981
I’m going to start with some poker, and then try the BLT Burger and beers! Sounds great.
While I see some other comments posting about pools and food being such an important attraction to Vegas, I’d have to say that’s not quite a draw for me. There are world class restaurants where I live, and being close enough to an ocean, who needs a pool? Instead, I want to do something in Vegas that I cannot get back home. To me, that means something like taking a wine class with a Master Sommelier at MICHAEL MINA on a Wednesday. How cool is that?! You’ve now *learned* something that you can impress your friends with! Sure, you might have a vineyard or winery near you somewhere, but if they’re tied to a specific company or brand, you’re not able to truly taste a great collection of liquid art from various skilled Sommeliers. Why not take an impartial class, learn about the best of the best from the best of the best, and drink free wine at the Bellagio? Sounds like a winner for me! You can read more about it here: http://makevegasyours.com/top-10-surprising-ly-random-things-to-do-in-vegas-59012
I was most interested in the giveaway terms, but sadly when I clicked the link, I got a 404 error…
Looking for all of the great pool bars.
Now some amazing loose leaf tea is definitely up my style! I’d really enjoy making my way to the Tea Lounge at the Mandarin Oriental I have a small collection of loose leaf teas that I greatly enjoy sipping anytime I get a moment of downtime. I don’t travel out of the country often, but when I do, I try to pick some of the local tea and bring it back with me. Being able to sample the Mandarin Orange Blend while actually relaxing on a vacation in Vegas (gasp! Relaxation in Sin City!) sounds like a winner to me! Take a peak at some teatime here: http://makevegasyours.com/hidden-vegas-gems-7-best-kept-secrets-revealed-41546
