Here’s How Air India Celebrates a New International Route With Song and Dance

Inaugural flights can be really special, and each airline handles these things in different ways. For instance when American Airlines launched Austin – Miami:

  • They had breakfast tacos and juice for everyone.
  • City officials failed to show to make their remarks for the 6 a.m. flight.
  • And it turned out that staff ate the celebratory cake the day before.

VietJet has been known to celebrate inaugural flights with women in bikinis, as long as the governments of the cities they’re starting service to don’t object.

And Air India? On February 20 they restarted service from Birmingham, UK to Amritsar, India after eight years, and this happened because no celebration is complete without music and dance.

Air India now flies this route twice weekly with a Boeing 787-8 aircraft.
