The Grand Hyatt New York has an amazing (and in general fully cancellable) rate that many of you will want to jump on. I most recently stayed here about three months ago and while it’s not my favorite Hyatt in New York it can be an exceptional value (which is why I go back).
From January 2 through August 20, 2018 the Grand Hyatt New York is making Grand Executive Suites available for cash and points. It’s the same cost as a regular room.
This is not an inexpensive room type!
And the Grand Hyatt website says that all suites other than junior suites get club access as well.
The nicest thing about this hotel is its club lounge, with a large indoor and outdoor space.
Don’t have Hyatt points?
- Anyone can transfer Hyatt points to you at no cost
- Or they can book the award in your name
- And you can transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards points (usually instantly) to Hyatt. So your Chase Sapphire Preferred and Ink Business Preferred Credit Card points can be used for this.
Last year the Hyatt Regency Paris offered club rooms for $21 and 3000 points and Ambassador Suites for $142. So amazing deals do come around.
Still I wouldn’t make any non-refundable travel plans around this rate offer and instead wait a week or so to make sure the Hyatt won’t have seller’s remorse about the deep discount offer.

These used to be the Grand Loft rooms which they had available with Points+Cash then as well. I think they pulled them down about 6 months ago.

Thank you! Booked a 3 night stay for next summer. It took some time to find dates that would work. My 6 year old will love going to NYC. I should be Globalist next year, but booking a suite saves me an upgrade. Let’s see if they honor it. Thank you.
Thanks for info and for comment Charlie. What kind of suite at that price only offers a queen sofa bed! I was looking forward to using for family of four as breakfast and food costs add up, but max allowed in room is 3.
The room description implies that there is a regular Hyatt Queen bed in the room as well as a sofa which converts to a Queen bed. Could someone who has actually stayed in one of these rooms please clarify? It seems odd that Hyatt would sell a $900+ suite with only a sofa bed. I imagine a lot of people would be very annoyed to learn this on arrival. But…it may explain the deep discount.
Looks like the deal may be dead. The deal shows up when I search, but it would not go to the confirmation page when I click on “Book My Stay”.
This is perfect for a day office, not a proper hotel room. The bed sounds horrible.

The Grand Hyatt is another example of a bad business deal by Trump. The Pritzker’s sued Trump to get rid of him from their partnership. Trump was accused of using bad accounting principles to stiff people and get out of paying taxes. He is some patriot. He is worried about football players taking a knee during the national anthem and somehow they are unpatriotic but it’s OK to deliberately not pay any taxes which supports our military, infrastructure, national defense and people affected by natural disasters. He is a joke.
@Mark-Please, let’s keep Trump obsession out of the travel blogs. It’s reached the point where there is no place to hide anymore (see, e.g.-NFL games).

Gary – just finished a fab 4 night stay, thanks so much for this. These are now categorized as 1 BR View Suites, so you get a separate 300SF bedroom attached to a 500+ sq. ft suite w/sofabed. + full bathroom. Table seats 6 for casual dining (we had Chinese delivered – perfect!) and suite room has an 80″ flat screen.
Club had good enough food in evenings for pre-theater bite (Hot dishes were grilled jumbo shrimp, pasta and grilled veg. plus several salad offerings). Certain Wed. nights at the club from 5-7pm, you may luck into a wine tasting or even a single malt scotch tasting.
Received a card good for 2 waters a day, and a voucher for 15 “points” – bottled waters & sodas worth 2 points, bottle of Canvas wine worth 15 points (surprised to get this as an explorist). They didn’t even charge me the $25 destination fee as my reservation pre-dated the announcement.
