Hyatt cash and points awards are great value especially for category 2-6 hotels. Cash and points even earn points when Hyatt chooses to offer promotions (rarely).
The reason they’re great is that you’re ‘buying back’ the points you don’t have to spend on a full award for 1.4 cents apiece or less on those category 2-6 hotels, and Hyatt points are worth that much.
Here’s the ‘normal’ cash and points award chart, and the value you get at each level.
Right now though, via Extreme Hotel Deals, Hyatt is pricing several properties for less than the cash and points award chart says they should be. We’ll call this ‘an unadvertised sale’ and one I don’t expect to last for long.

This is a great sale. In general I’ve seen Hyatt honor these, though as always it’s possible a property might get seller’s remorse so it’s a good idea not to make non-refundable travel plans around the booking for a few days to make sure everything remains intact.
I like how you didn’t credit EHD for this post. Strong work “expert”
Good one. I think you mean good idea NOT to make non-refundable travel plans for a few days.
@Oscar – try actually reading the post? “Right now though, via Extreme Hotel Deals, Hyatt is pricing several properties for less than the cash and points award chart says they should be” (and this links to the EHD post)
@Chris – yes I do!
Awesome

I looked at one of the $17 ones, and it clearly shows that rate when booking. Then when you get to the end, it changes to $18.52 (which isn’t because of tax, as that’s listed separately). Not a big deal, but quirky.
If you find me in Hyderabad, it will likely be against my will. Is this sort of like the Ritz Carlton rate in Saudi Arabia?
Lol everyone look at Oscar with egg on his face.
