Luggage Theft Prank by YouTube Star Ends With Victim Taken Down By Police

A YouTube ‘prankster’ took a passenger’s luggage at baggage claim and his partner filmed the reaction. The passengerr lost it, going after the man who took the bag. Police responded to the altercation – and tackled the man whose luggage was stolen because he was seen attacking the YouTube perpetrator.

Subdued and cuffed, the passenger offered his explanation of what happened. His bag was beig taken, but he also committed assault – while the filming continued. Video of the incident contains language that is not safe for work (or safe for work from home, for that matter).

Is this even a prank, with the victim getting arrested? One Reddit commenter offers that “one of these TikTok prankers is going to get shot and then they will learn their lesson” and then realizes that the prediction actually just happened. Some actually did get shot during a harassment prank – and says they’ll continue making videos and doesn’t care:

Naturally the police here focus on the altercation they saw. The guys messing with him go unaccosted, at least as shown in the video. Wouldn’t any of us have behaved similarly if we saw someone stealing our luggage?

  1. Only a matter of time until one of these YouTube idiots gets killed for their trouble. Subscribe and like.

  2. @L3, I agree with you, this is theft.

The next crime that is committed, say borrowing a car from someone you don’t know. Your honor it was just a prank for my You Tube followers. I was just trying to monetize my criminal behavior err my channel.

  3. Nice prank.

I also consider broken knees to be hilarious. Which is exactly what the prankster could look forward to if he got me arrested over a YouTube stunt stealing my stuff.

And then after I get out of prison for that I can go for the arms. All in good fun.

  4. Stealing is a crime and not a prank. However, the older white dude is assaulting the black guy and that is also a crime. He has his bag so let it go. Hopefully he is charged with assault (and the other guy with theft). I frankly don’t care if someone tries to take your bag – once you get it back it doesn’t give you freedom to continue to assault the person.

  5. If I ever decide to break the law I sure hope that policewoman is the one that chases me. Even with my bad knees I could outrun her. When I was in Japan recently they had thrown an American YouTuber in jail for acting stupid. Hit him with pretty serious charges. It was in the news for several days.

  6. @AC
I’m guessing he was trying to hold a thief for police. Maybe the thief will consider a haircut before he tries to act a fool again. Interesting they didn’t show the video prior to the guy getting his bag back. What was the thief’s stance? How did he react when confronted. I would have dropped the bag and gone for a chokehold. After a couple minutes he would have gone to sleep.

  7. It’s not a prank. It’s grand larceny., and should be charged as such. EVERY SINGLE TIME.

The guy taking a video is his accomplice and under US law is just as guilty as the felon, and must be charged as well.

  8. Pretty SICK logic by AC. The victim should have hauled off and leveled the clown with his suitcase!!!

  9. Cops are atrocious. It should be very clear to cops what happened. Cops are not simply following orders but choose to be complicit in the criminalization of self defense. They are the ones with the badges and can decide not to arrest someone but don’t. Worse than the thief are the cops. We will never have a fair society until both thieves and cops are held accountable for their actions by the public.

  10. It’s too bad this world is full of Everyone thinking they are talented and looking for fame especially when they don’t deserve it. Shows parents never taught their kids to strive for real goals in life.

  11. I think that is here in Austin (AUS). Not sure if it’s funny, but the man REALLY overacted and grabbing the hair like that is not cool.

  12. I have watched the video multiple times. The luggage owner tried to walk away, but the “prankster / thief” grabbed him. So the “prankster / thief” instigated and extended the encounter. Now he will really get a bunch of views.

    This generation is a joke.

  13. The youtuber has more woke intersectionality points, so he wins. The actual facts don’t matter, and it is useless to try and argue with them. Sad, but that is what matters to the police in America today.

  14. The perfect illustration of Joe Biden’s America. Remember in November.

  15. One more example of police incompetence, arrest the victim, nothing to the perp; DO YOUR JOB, prevent the theft.

  16. @ AC. Not to pile on criticism to your comment but the victim was telling the perp to “let go of my fuc*ing shirt.” The perp got off easy when the suitcase could have been used immediately to help convince both the idiots that the “prank” has gone bad.

  17. It looks like the police got it wrong and arrested the wrong man.
Now the arrested man should lawyer up and go after YouTube “star” for restitution.

  18. Why do these “Pranksters”think it’s ok for them to just harass people, This Asshat got no punishment and they arrested the victim!! Bullshtt, needs to be repercussiontions.

  19. Victim vs thief (and that’s what that is, even if it’s just a prank) looks like valid self defense to me. However, then he goes after the cameraman. I think that’s what got him arrested.
