Mouse Invades United Club at LaGuardia on the Eve of $1,400 Fee Hike [Roundup]

News and notes from around the interweb:

  • Mouse just wants to get in their visits before the United Club price increase goes into effect.

  • If Delta significantly changes or cancels your flight, and you decide not to fly, you are entitled to a refund. Delta would prefer, of course, that you take a credit. So they’ve made a change where eCredits in that situation now last five years instead of just one.

  • Riyadh Air is the new premium airline launching from Saudi Arabia this year, distinguishing itself from Saudia. Both are state carriers. And Saudia is promoting itself as premium too.

  • $17 rides won’t get you very far from most airports.

  • Many such cases.

  • United Airlines, please fix your planes.

  • So sick and tired of this:

  1. Don’t get me started on the Chase credit card, where either Chase or United really played stump the chump on me. Right after receiving the card they jacked the annual fee and reduced the benefits by removing foreign club access.
OK, that’s their decision, but I do think they owe card applicants better transparency.

  2. That’s no pet mouse @ United Club he was dinner for lounge guests and got away from the chef who was getting ready to prepare and serve him
At least they can justify the annual fee increase with their fine cuisine
United now is the new Delta a total rip off especially for buying tickets
They should be thankful there are enough fools out there to fuel their success

  3. On the eCredits in lieu of refunds *trickery* (because that’s what it is), we’re going to see a lot more of games like this, sadly–for those ‘let the free market decide’ folks, this is exactly what happens when you de-regulate: us consumers get tricked and screwed. Listen, I like Delta. A lot. Ask @Tim Dunn. He gets it. But, this is a bigger issue than just them. If they can do this, everyone can. We deserve better.

  4. @Woofie — Same here, brutha. Opened the Explorer card in early March… felt like it was just the next day that they changed the entire game on me. Tried to get Chase to match to the higher SUB, etc. Nope. Gonna ride the ‘no annual fee’ for those first 12-mo, then cancel, unless there’s a compelling retention offer.

  5. Wilbur will have to get creative if he wants to get close to home. I hope he still has the money and hasn’t bought some food. Maybe he can find someone headed in his direction to offer the money to even if it doesn’t get him all of the way home. He will be on an airplane with other passengers that he can ask while in the air.

  6. If you’re interested in a bespoke, elevated lounge experience while traveling through JFK, please consider Delta One.

  7. @Matt — Ohho, yes! Keep Climbing all the way to that Brasserie for a ‘curated’ fine dining experience, too. *chef’s kiss*
