Naked Woman Bites Police, Delaying Flight From Munich

A woman “rip[ped] her clothes off” on board a Lufthansa flight from Munich to Sofia, Bulgaria. Police responded to a call from the aircraft. They tried to cover the passenger, and she bit them.

The 27-year-old woman “undressed completely” prior to pushback on Friday and “screamed loudly.” The incident was enough to trigger both federal and state police, who tried to put a blanket over her. It was her nakedness, rather than unruliness, that appeared to be their response priority.

“During this attempt, the woman suddenly bit her colleague in the left forearm,” the police said. The officer had to use “immediate coercion” “to release the bite and protect himself.” The woman was then brought out of the plane with several emergency services. The passenger was taken to the Taufkirchen district hospital by the state police. Reports of resistance against law enforcement officials, physical assault and bodily harm were reported against them.

The officer sought medical treatment, and the flight was delayed three and a half hours. But what strikes me as odd is that this isn’t the first time a Lufthansa passenger has felt the need to go naked on an aircraft. When it was a man, and a first class passenger no less, they let it slide.

Unfortunately – or fortunately – I have been unable to find photos of this latest incident online.

  1. Maybe she thought she was in a park and the screaming was the real problem initially.
