I feel bad for the asian immigrant – thought he was coming to America to get ahead, earn money, make a better future for himself & family. He didn’t realize America is just a giant cesspool (I say this sadly as someone that wishes the best for America)

The report about the off-duty pilot raised a question. If an off-duty pilot is timed out, would he or she be able to take the place of an incapacitated pilot such as in this circumstance?
If pilot is singular, why is it ‘their’ skills?
“Their” can also be singular
