Right now there’s reasonably good business class award availability on American Airlines New York JFK – Barcelona in the fall and winter. For instance here’s business class award space for two passengers.
Impressively there are even dates where four award seats are available, so it’s great not just for couples but for families too.
American runs a Boeing 777-200 on the route, featuring fully flat direct aisle access seats — although some aircraft have Zodiac “Concept D” seats and others have B/E Aerospace Super Diamond seats.

Unfortunately connections beyond Barcelona are hard now that nearly all Iberia service there has been turned over to IAG’s low cost carrier Vueling (which isn’t part of oneworld).
Departures from New York JFK in business class have access to American’s new Flagship business class lounge there, and don’t forget Flagship Bridge Dining that’s hidden away by the Admirals Club where you can order off a menu.
American AAdvantage and Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan each charge 57,500 miles for business class each way between the US and Europe. Most other programs will add fuel surcharges to these awards.
Almost always business class award seats for the entire family are available when the kids are in school???
I have on hold 2 business class tickets CDG-JFK for 12/20, each at 57,500 miles. Waiting to see if I can get a better deal. Should I keep on waiting?
Is there any way to search for AA flights that restrict ALL the legs to business class? Maybe on a partner site? Or once you find it on the important leg is there a trick to finding out if other legs are available too? I’m tired of searching and getting coach on the over the ocean leg.
