Right Said Fred Is Too Sexy For To Wear A Mask At London Heathrow

In 1991 I’m Too Sexy was an absolute anthem. Right Said Fred hit number one in the U.S. with their debut single, something no other band has done since the Beatles. I’d call them a one hit wonder but their next single “Don’t Talk Just Kiss” did hit #76 on the Billboard top 100.

But did you know that Right Said Fred is still a thing? And that they’ve released an album as recently as 2017? Perhaps desperate for relevance they’ve taken on a new profile criticizing the U.K. government’s response to the pandemic (fair enough) and also refusing to wear masks during air travel and promoting skepticism about vaccines.

The latest salvo is a tweet from London Heathrow relaying that they’d refused to wear a mask and were applauded for it by staff there.

Fred Fairbrass doesn’t say where he was headed, however, probably Milan, New York, or Japan.

Initially the twitter bots at Heathrow airport and BA encouraged the rock and roll has-been.

Those tweets were deleted, it appears, and Heathrow has put up a more sober response.

Right Said Fred’s second studio album was Sex and Travel, so that – combined with being a British band – sort of lets them opine on London Heathrow terminal 5. Though the appropriate responses on Twitter almost elude now that @realdonaldtrump put downs have been banned from the platform.

  1. The best artists are also social commentators who challenge authority and make us think for ourselves. Right said, Fred!

  2. Well said @Mak. The left used to celebrate thinking for ourselves and challenging authority. Now they proudly try to personally destroy anyone who dares to do so. And it’s obviously going to take a while before Gary can go more than just a couple of posts before he has to mention Trump. The guy is going to be living rent-free in these guy’s heads for quite a while yet. They may never fully recover from TDS. lol.

  3. @brady The left has never (in the last century, at least) really celebrated people thinking for themselves, nor challenging authority in general. They just convinced a bunch of people that believing everything they hear from leftists was “different” and “thinking for themselves.” The left (for the past century or so) has always opposed anyone who challenged *their* authority. They only wanted the authority of those who didn’t agree with them to be challenged. The left has generally been responsible for the most egregious extensions of government authority since at least the early 1900s, as well as the most egregious restrictions on speech that doesn’t convey the messages that they wanted to be conveyed during that same period. Though the right does also deserve a dishonorable mention in that department, especially with regard to the McCarthy era.

  4. Does this knock them out of being in a GEICO one hit wonder commercial? Getting kinda tired of Tag Team’s “Whoomp! There It Is” commercial.

  5. @brady – you seem to have a lot of TDS, continually bringing up a historic loser president no longer in office and all

  6. Still trying to comprehend the title headline Gary used here … why the “for to wear” instead of “for wearing”

  7. Selfish man totally ignored simple instructions for the celebrity factor not right Fred totally wrong you ignorant person maybe you need covid-19 just to realize how stupid you are, but maybe not as you would then be a stupid super spreader.
