News and notes from around the interweb:
- People are searching for – and buying – cruises again offer people a deal and they’ll buy anything, plus this is travel for 2021 (and even 2022).
- Singapore Airlines has removed first class from sale until October 2021 since what aircraft will fly which routes remains an open question.
- It’s something to see if you ever go to Turkmenistan, because if you’re a true dictator you can do crazy stuff like this.
The president of Turkmenistan has just unveiled a gold statue of his favourite dog, with a video screen on the plinth showing highlights of the dog's life. You can be sure we'll be adding this to our Turkmen itinerary in future.. https://t.co/S6dXTkeBDU

- JetBlue is gradually lifting its sales cap. They’ll sell 70% of seats (blocking almost all middles) through December 1. Then December 2 through January 7, 2021 they’ll sell 85% of seats, blocking nearly half of middles for the holidays. They will no longer cap sales starting January 8, 2021. Remember that the carrier was just embarking on significant cost cuts before the pandemic.
- Earn 1000 bonus American AAdvantage miles per night for Hyatt Ziva and Zilara stays through April 4, 2021. (Registration required.)
- Target has added 80 million people to its loyalty program in a year
- Avianca’s post-bankruptcy route network will be much smaller as far as I’m concerned they’re a frequent flyer program (Lifemiles) not an airline.
@ Gary — Yeah, and that’s the problem with LifeMiles. I can’t imagine any government bailing out a frequent flyer program.
