There are a number of minor service changes that EVA Air is making. But the fact that they’re paying attention to the minor details like this is part of what makes them a quality carrier. They offer one of the better business class products in the world, and good service throughout the cabin.
There’s new pajamas and even menu covers in business class, new bedding in premium economy, and even gourmet snacks in coach on Hong Kong flights.

For a top notch international airline the little things matter. Attention to detail matters. So it’s fitting that they actually lead their announcement with new menus and wine lists. This isn’t actually new food and wine it’s literally new lists.
They’ve worked with JL Design on covers for their menu and wine list that “represent[..] one of Taiwan’s four seasons, spring, summer, fall and winter. EVA is using the new menus and wine lists throughout 2018.”
EVA is introducing a cold-pressed mango and mixed fruit juice beverage in business class on flights departing Taiwan during the first quarter of 2018.
Made from tree-ripened Taiwanese Irwin Mangoes with a tasty blend of sweet tangerine, passion fruit and banana, the delicious drink captures Taiwan’s most famous flavors in a glass.

There’s also a new strawberry cake on Taipei – Paris and some North American flights created by SEASON Cuisine Pâtissiartism.
A light and airy variation on classic French strawberry cake, the culinary creators named the new melt-in-your-mouth treat “Neige.” Composed of buttery almond cake layered with fromage blanc and fresh raspberry jam, “Neige” is deliciously satisfying.
Finally, new blue pajamas with a print design that “tells the story of traveling 36,000 ft. above the earth” from London-based designer label APUJAN. EVA offers pajamas in business class on flights longer than 5 hours. Contrast this with American Airlines which offers pajams only on flights to Hong Kong, Sydney and Auckland, and United which offers pajamas only on request, and only on flights 12 hours or longer.
EVA Air is upgrading linens in premium economy. Effective today they’re offering golden-brown quilts “in soft, comfy textures” and large down pillows (12 in. x 16 in.) “that have uniquely patterned covers designed to promote sweet dreams on long-haul flights.”
American Airlines by the way just ‘improved’ their premium economy bedding with a lumbar pillow. So a contrast and again, attention to detail.
This won’t help EVA overtake Singapore Airlines as offering the best economy service in the world but on flights between Hong Kong and Taiwan they’re serving pound cake in economy outside of lunch and dinner times.
The offering comes from “century-old French bakery PAUL” and changes flavors monthly throughout the year. Passengers even get a choice, for instance this month it’s chocolate or fruit pound cake.
