The fastest way down to baggage claim, though, if you’re in a hurry is to go through the ceiling. At least that’s what one man discovered at the Tampa airport. He “fell through the ceiling and landed in [Southwest Airlines] baggage claim” on Monday evening, according to a passenger who reported witnessing the event.
A young child was “running riot and jumping on a moving baggage carousel while throwing luggage on the ground” at Melbourne airport. After a long flight he probably had excess energy, and what better playground than baggage claim?
The TSA shared video of frozen chickens and chicken parts, stuck together in a block, circling an airport’s baggage carousel. The chicken wasn’t wrapped or inside of luggage. And there’s no baggage tag apparent in the video.
TSA used the opportunity to make a number of puns, but there’s no security rule against checking frozen chicken as luggage.
Two groups of passengers began egging each other on after American Airlines flight AA2333 from Miami to Philadelphia early in the week, culminating in a brawl at baggage claim.
Last year a Japanese airport employee was filmed actually cleaning luggage before passengers picked up their bags. Each and every bag gets checked for scuffs or marks on arrival, then the employee takes a white cloth to those bags which need it.
So it’s no surprise to see this Japan Airlines employee making sure every bag is laid symmetrically on the belt at baggage claim.
Delta and Alaska Airlines commit to delivering checked bags within 20 minutes of each flight arriving. United and American make no such commitment. An American employee asked about what the airline can do to improve its baggage delivery times, and management provided a response in writing outlining some of the challenges that they have with bags – and how it’s supposed to work.
They also explained why bags often don’t make it when you change flights during irregular operations.
I have to assume the reason he isn’t wearing a shirt is because he doesn’t want to get sauce on it while eating his donuts. He’ll have a hard time keeping his slice steady as he goes round and round the baggage carousel.
