United Airlines bet on $1 billion worth of electric air taxis as a future way to move passengers to and from its hub airports. Now CEO Scott Kirby says those aircraft should not be operating near major airports at all, a striking reversal that raises new doubts about one of the airline industrys most heavily marketed future bets.
Air carrier JSX, which currently flies 50-seat regional jets with just 30 seats and operates their all first class product from private terminals, announced plans to acquire up to 332 hybrid electric aircraft with expected delivery beginning in 2028.
