Once Southwest starts flying Hawaii redeyes (which lets them reach destinations further east) they won’t need as many intra-island flights to maintain six flights per gate. We could see fewer intra-island flights as a result, if redeyes are additive to current Hawaii-mainland operations.
The best value at Southwest Airlines is the Companion Pass, where you can bring someone with you on all of your trips for just the cost of taxes. Hawaii service used to be something special. That isn’t really true anymore. It was an exciting development when Southwest Airlines added the state to its route map, especially for holders of the Companion Pass (designated companion flies for just the taxes whether you’re paying for your ticket with points or cash). But the product is standard Southwest — no meals or seat power — and the journey relatively long.

Hawaii has awarded a new tourism marketing contract for a campaign that lays out what kind of travel they want to attract. In particular, as they’re desperate to drive a resurgence in Maui visits, they want Europeans to be more respectful and spend more.
American Airlines miles are great for redeeming on partner airlines at great value, such as Japan Airlines to Asia and Iberia to Europe. However it can be tough to use AAdvantage miles to actually fly American, without paying a big premium in miles, especially if you want to fly up front. And most people want to use American’s miles to fly domestically.

For Alaska and Hawaii routes, these complimentary premium economy upgrades at the gate are now available to all elites. Gold and Platinum members are now eligible for complimentary premium economy upgrades when listed for an upgrade to business and not clearing.
Hawaiian, United, American, Delta and Alaska are all running sub-$100 each way Hawaii fares from the West Coast. Southwest Airlines has matched the lowest of these ($62 each way) and that makes their flights available super-cheap on points as well.
You can book Hawaii for just 3154 points each way, or 6308 Rapid Rewards points roundtrip ($5.60 in security taxes each way as well). The best part of Southwest redemptions is that they are fully refundable, you can cancel and redeposit your points at no charge.
I suspect there are errors on CDC vaccine cards all over the country. But this woman had an error on her fake vaccination card, and that helped lead to her arrest after using it to avoid quarantine on arrival in Hawaii.
If an airline’s agents can’t make sense of a policy it is probably too complicated a policy.
