Hilton is running double points through September 9. That alone is probably the best current hotel promotion. Hotels are generally full and at historically high rates, so they haven’t needed to offer generous promotions.
What’s interesting is that there’s a new opportunity to double dip. You can earn Hilton points, more points with Hilton’s double points promotion, and through October 31 you can also earn 2500 Lufthansa Miles & More miles per stay.

Earlier in the month it was reported that Marriott-Starwood would be losing the St. Regis, Westin and W hotels in Dubai all at once. The same owner of these hotels — Al Habtoor Group — also pulled the St Regis Habtoor Polo Resort and Spa out of the chain.
Dubai was one of Starwood’s most important markets, they had a legacy Emirates partnership similar to their Delta partnership in the US and a UAE co-brand credit card. Marriott’s loss, though, appears to be Hilton’s gain.

Hilton has been running double points since May 1. Hilton usually runs double points, for instance they basically ran it all of 2016.
Apparently they’re not ready to launch a new, exciting different promotion right away because instead of ending double points August 31 they’re extending it.

Frequent Miler asks “Is Hilton considering new elite benefits?”
Head for Points reports on attending a Hilton event that bloggers were invited to. And in fact says “We were also given advanced notice of some new Hilton Honors member benefits which may come later this year.”

Loyalty has two primary components: recognition and reward. That’s your elite program and your earn and burn proposition.
Hotel programs are tough to compare because you earn a different number of points per dollar spent, and redemptions vary wildly as well — the most expensive Hyatt redemption is 30,000 points while the most expensive Hilton redemption costs 95,000. We can normalize that by looking at the number of points earned, and the value of each point.

Last week Hilton shared the details of their second quarter promotion, however it wasn’t yet available for registration. Now it is, and you should register, even if you don’t expect to stay at Hiltons in the coming months — because if your plans change (even with a last minute stay because of a forced overnight when your flight cancels) you’ll never remember to register on the spot. It takes seconds now then it’s now.

Hilton’s current promotion runs through April 30 and they’re not missing a beat with their new one.
Hilton will offer double points on every stay (not of this ‘starting with your second or third stay’ stuff) between May 1 and August 31.
