I decided to write about the Marco Polo Club at the Venice Airport for only one reason: it’s exactly what a Priority Pass lounge should be. It’s not the greatest lounge. It doesn’t have great food. But it’s spacious and clean, offers plenty of seating, and has food and working espresso machines available.
TSA employees have learned this trick, “invading” the Aspire Lounge at the Ontario Airport in California run by Swissport. They don’t ask for boarding passes either. After all, that means more card swipes – and they get paid per swipe.

The Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse JFK was once a truly fantastic lounge. Now it’s still a nice space, with big windows and plenty of light. It’s comfortable, though maybe with too much furniture? But it feels dated to me and could use a refresh.

This appears to be new language. The card has covered unlimited guests in the past. I’ve reached out to Capital One for clarification about whether this is a hard limit that’s already gone into effect, or just a change in marketing language.
Another Chase Sapphire lounge in the pipeline, this time at LAX in the Tom Bradley International Terminal. It will be 9,234 square feet near gate 148.
After my brief stop at the Air France lounge I continued my tour of Washington Dulles airport Priority Pass lounges. Next stop: the Virgin Clubhouse by gate A32.
This lounge was renovated shortly before the pandemic, and while I guess it is… different than before I also wonder, given what it’s like now, why did they bother?
Chase is making changes to its Priority Pass cards, eliminating part of the benefit. Starting in July cardmembers will no longer receive credits at airport restaurants that are part of the program.
