FBI Investigating NYC Mayor’s Free Turkish Airlines Upgrades

The FBI is investigating New York City Mayor Eric Adams over free upgrades from Turkish Airlines on both official business and leisure travel. It’s part of a wider corruption investigation into the Mayor’s 2021 campaign.

These allegations have prompted searches and seizures by the FBI, targeting Adams’s electronic devices as well as the homes of others linked to these arrangements, including a former Turkish Airlines executive.

Turkish Airlines is adding a new Denver – Istanbul flight this summer, and business class awards are wide open – with availability most days starting in July through end of year (and plenty of space returning in January 2025 as well).

Use this to fly to Europe in peak summer! Even during the Paris Olympics. Connect west back to Western Europe, or connect eastward to Asia – you don’t need to use this to go to Turkey. It may be your jumping off point to the Mideast as well. And United Airlines saver award space can be added into awards to get to and from Denver as well.

Turkish Airlines, which has around 435 planes in its fleet and another 100 on order, is set to announce a major order from Airbus for 345 planes. It will likely be reported in many places as 355 planes, folding in 10 Airbus A350-900s whose purchase was already announced. When you see coverage of the order, talking about how much it is ‘worth’, remember to divide by two.

Now they have a new feature: virtual flight simulator. It’s called the “Hezarfen Flight Simulator Experience” after the first person in Turkish aviation history to take flight.
