Review: The Club CHS (Priority Pass Lounge, Charleston South Carolina)

The Club CHS is surprisingly nice. Newer The Club lounges are so much better than what you used to expect from the brand. The airport lounges from Airport Dimensions, which is owned by the same parent company as Priority Pass, has been offering better-designed spaces and even more food and drink options. And in the Covid era they’ve had table service replace buffets and it’s a nice experience.

The Club at MSY is a gorgeous space, and Charleston, South Carolina’s The Club is excellent as well. The lounge opened in summer 2019. It didn’t get its liquor license and open its bar until December 2019. And then the pandemic came, so it’s relatively lightly used and still ‘fresh’.

Head down the corridor towards B gates and then the elevator up to the club is just past the Eddie Bauer, before you reach the gates themselves.

Here’s the hallway to the left just past security:

Inside The Club CHS

The Club CHS has views of the ramp, but the main view looks out over the terminal itself.

It’s a small lounge that still manages to have multiple seating zones. There are multiple areas to sit, including as a family, as well as work areas and a bar and dining room.

The Club CHS Food And Beverage

When you find your seat there’s a QR code that brings up a menu. It also pre-populates with your table number so a server knows how to find you. You can order some modest hot items and they’ll come out quickly.

Even though there’s food to order there’s also a small buffet. The bar though is a nice place to sit and more extensive than the food on offer.

The Club CHS coffee machine is good, but a couple of options weren’t available, as noted by red tape over the button areas. How odd.

Restrooms

The lounge had two private bathrooms rather than shared men’s and women’s rooms. That’s to save on space, but there wasn’t generally a line while I was there and having the private space is actually nice.

Good Lounge, Wish It Was Larger

Frankly the only negative thing about this lounge is it’s just too small, and was packed when I arrived (but we were able to find three seats together), though it did clear out a bit before I left.

  1. Great report Gary. Back to the basics, that’s why we come here.
Now if only they would build a premium lounge in Palm Springs.

  2. It is a nice lounge. I’ve been there twice. Actually sitting only once. One visit it was pretty empty for a morning flight and the 2nd time for an evening flt. we were turned away as it was FULL.
