News and notes from around the interweb:
- Hertz, Budget, Dollar and Thrifty customers showing up in Orlando with car rental reservations , but there are no cars. It’s 2021 all over again
- The plastic doesn’t look any worse than the rest of the food United serves here, to be honest
@united traveling from Sydney to Houston onUA 100 & the food served on flight had a thick plastic mixed in chicken.I notified the flight crew about it (Charlotte).I am glad I didn’t chew it.kindly get the food quality checked as it could have choked my throat @FoxNews @nytimes pic.twitter.com/tfcyejJfaE

- Jacksonville airport adding new concourse and taking a play from Charlotte’s airport with… rocking chairs.
- 2017 credit card fraud probe included… George Santos I’d love to know how he played the rewards game.
- Qantas prepares $69 million lounge investment including a new London Heathrow first class lounge (est. late 2025); re-opening Hong Kong lounge (April 2023); refresh Melbourne business class lounge (mid-2024); “full rebuild” of Sydney business class lounge (est. early 2025); new Hobart Qantas Club; and new Broome Regional Lounge.
Qantas First Class Lounge, Sydney - I’m old enough to remember when Asian state carriers used to offer a better inflight product. And to think that the Malaysia Airlines headquarters is a mere 184 miles from Singapore.
So here is new @MAS 737 config in Y.
Who is responsible for this?
Video – gone
Legroom – gone
Comfort – gone
Common sense – none!

Was in Atlanta over the weekend, Dollar was out of cars, had to book a minivan for 5x as much through Hertz.
I had United’s “chicken” meal on both my flights to Hawaii earlier this month and I literally preferred eating my kid’s “children’s meal” that was literally just a “cheese sandwich”
Just when you think United’s long-haul premium F&B service can’t get any worse, it always does. Penny-wise pound-foolish only begins to explain it; even the flight attendants are ashamed…
Why would you even eat anything that needs to be heated up on a plane? It’s already going to be either too salty, tasteless, or just gross. Just looking at that food makes me gag. Might as well have a PB&J
If you have a “can rental reservation” surely you can’t expect to be given an automobile.
