News and notes from around the interweb:
- I successfully sued Expedia and you should, too. They refused to refund a cancelled flight, which I understand was common during Covid (they still collect commission if they issue a credit instead of a refund). They used AI instead of an attorney to win.
In 2021, a British Airways flight I booked through Expedia was canceled due to COVID-19. Expedia issued me a flight credit for $935.67 with a final expiration date of September 30, 2025. (This was a flight/hotel package deal and the hotel promptly refunded me.)
- 15% discount buying GHA Discovery Dollars through October 31. With some hotels you can redeem Discovery Dollars at time of booking, which means you can use it on prepaid rates (so don’t have to give up that savings). Of course you do not earn DIscovery Dollars on the amount you redeem, so you’re giving back some of the savings there. But it’ll be strategically useful for some.
Kempinski Cancun - I’ve never seen a bus get a water cannon salute before.
- Again…?
DEN Trains have been up and down all morning, running slowly even when “working”. Pax being metered down to platform from TSA screening. Once on platform, 15 minutes to get on train and out to concourse. pic.twitter.com/bnJOG3mS7j

- Where Delta has grown over time, should match your intuition:
- The new American Airlines lounge food winter lineup was supposed to start in November for Admirals Clubs and December for Flagship lounges, but the promised Korean barbecue pork was already in the C Admirals Club this week. It was pretty flavorful, fairly standard buffet food, though I didn’t love the fried brown rice.
FAFO. Sue. Win. Cash-money!
(Or, we could have robust air passenger rights legislation so that both common carriers, tour operators, hotels, OTAs, etc., all actually complied with rules.)
Anyway, did anyone else see that video of the fuel operator gone wrong at DTW with the CRJ on October 11? Oof. Bad.
(The irony, Gary just posted it.)
