Two American Express Centurion Lounges Close Temporarily Starting Monday

For your strategic awareness, two American Express Centurion lounges will be closed temporarily starting Monday — Miami and Las Vegas.

Miami Lounge Closure

Last month I reported that the Miami American Express Centurion lounge would close for about two weeks in January in order to extend the lounge into adjacent built-out space.

American Express shares this closure will start Monday,

Beginning January 14th, 2019, The Centurion Lounge at Miami International Airport will be temporarily closed for a short period as we work to upgrade and expand the space. Please visit one of our partner lounges including Delta Sky Club® when flying Delta, or a Priority Pass Select lounge once enrolled.

Las Vegas Closure

In addition the Las Vegas Centurion lounge will also close temporarily starting Monday,

The Centurion Lounge at Las Vegas International Airport will be temporarily closed for a short period starting on January 14, 2019, as we work to upgrade and improve the space. We apologize for the inconvenience and look forward to reopening as soon as possible to continue to offer Platinum Card Members a place to relax, refresh and reboot when they travel through LAS.

I was told that American Express expects this location to be closed “for approximately one week.”

You guys are sure hard on these lounges, I certainly appreciate expansion of space and the maintenance — we’ve all seen airline lounges that don’t get loving care.

Comments

  1. Truth of the ntter is the lvs lounge had tons of wear and tear . Plus very crowded…this is very much needed

  2. @gary Miami definitely needs more space. I won’t be flying through MIA in january, so no issue with me, but might be a letdown for people who don’t know – and walk all the way down to D10 (if memory serves…) and find it closed!
