Replacement cost is estimated at $3.4 million across the affected fleet of -700, -800, -900 as well as MAX 8 and 9 aircraft.

- The TWA Hotel at New York JFK should be incredible, but its owner thinks all hotels should charge guests add-on fees like an ultra-low cost airline (seriously) and they’ve created a sorry experience at odds with the property’s aesthetic.
Our hope, then, lies in the Pan Am Hotel by Hilton at Citadel Outlets in Commerce, California southeast of downtown L.A. slated for spring 2026 opening:

I’m with you, Gary: “Clean. Your. Planes.” And, also: Pay. Your. People. Because I doubt the cleaning crews earn much, or are given much time to properly clean the planes. No, we are not Japan, but we could do better. We should have more self-respect. We should take better care of our people and places. *sigh*
Latches are not something hidden. Why didn’t the FAA notice that the latches were a problem before. Are they doing their job?
