Wide Open Business Class Awards To Europe On Delta, Book For Just 50,000 Points Each

Dan’s Deals flags wide open Delta business class award space between New York and Tel Aviv. You don’t want to book this space via Delta, since they now charge insane mileage prices for saver awards. But it’s a good deal through their partners (and you can transfer points from most bank programs).

  • 39,000 points each way with Air France KLM Flying Blue
  • And 110,500 miles each way for business class
  • With no fuel surcharges

It turns out there’s also amazing availability now through summer on a variety of Delta transatlantic routes as well, which can be booked for 50,000 Virgin Atlantic points each way without surcharges (and Virgin partners with most bank currencies).

Specifically, 9 or more seats available on some routes February through August, examples including:

  • Boston – Dublin, Rome, and Lisbon
  • New York JFK – Amsterdam, Dublin, Munich
  • Cincinnati – Paris
  • Minneapolis – Dublin

You can use the Virgin award calendar or the hidden Air France award calendar to find availability. In summer the very best availability is New York JFK – Munich.

This is highly suggestive that Delta’s revenue management team sees this summer as weaker than its top executives have been suggesting, most recently on the carrier’s fourth quarter earnings call.

  1. @ Gary — I booked a pair of these 5 hours ago JFK-MUC-JFK on 767-400 (DLs less crappy 767s). Great deal in J for 100k + $125 r/t, but I have to wonder how much remains after 5+ hours…

  2. Thanks so much. Just booked JFK-MUC rt for 100k VS points. Note that the taxes and fees are significantly cheaper if booked as a rt rather than 2 one-way’s.

  3. Thanks Gary, I didn’t seen any good options for a return flight, but snagged a pair of one way tickets from JFK to MUC in Delta One Biz Class for only 78K FB points with only $20 USD in fees and no fuel surcharge!!! Heck Yeah!

  4. I will be flying to Frankfurt the end of March returning in April.
I have points on Delta. Should I book on Delta?

  5. It’s amazing you can book it for 50k on VS, flying Delta metal, but try through Delta and it’s 300k+. Delta F’s it’s customers time and time again

  6. Looks like the deal is over. just did a search for on the award calendar search view on virgin and no delta metal showing up today.
