Woman Strips Down, Walks Naked Through Manila Airport Terminal To Protest Visa Issue

A Vietnamese woman stripped naked at Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 in Manila on Saturday after a dispute with immigration officers over a visa fine.

Thuytrang Nguyen was scheduled to fly Cebu Pacific 571 to Ho Chi Minh City. At outbound immigration she was told she’d overstayed her vise and had to pay a fine. She objected, became agitated and… removed her clothes. If you want to see video, it’s here, I won’t embed it. She walked around the departure area in the nude.

Airport Police Department and Cebu Pacific ground personnel, along with protocol staff, managed to calm Nguyen, dress her, and escort her to the NAIA Terminal 3 medical clinic. An immigration officer described her as “psychologically incapacitated” and she was temporarily prevented from leaving the country.

Nguyen spent the night at the airport clinic. Language barriers made communication difficult (there weren’t any Vietnamese speakers on site and she spoke neither Tagalog nor English) but they used Google Translate to convey information.

Following a day of detention she paid her visa fine and was permitted to leave on Sunday.

  1. At least no concealed water bottles or planted bullets. Has it been proven that the extra charges were legitimate?

  2. She taught them a lesson they soon will not forget . She demonstrated ingenuity with a clever response to their unreasonable demand .

  3. I know Vietnam passport holders don’t need a visa to visit other ASEAN countries like Philippines for stays of 30 days or less so I’m guessing she stayed 30+ days.

  4. Very disturbing! Why can’t this happen when I’m stuck behind someone with immigration issues?!

Normally I’m stuck behind a family of 12 and kicking myself for getting in the wrong line. The delay would be worth it if I got some gratuitous nudity in the process.

I know everyone says heterosexual males run the world, but if that were true women would be required to strip at immigration and not just do it as a protest.

  5. Looks like tge authorities handled it well. I’m pretty sure just about all your readers clicked on the link.

  6. Those poor airline employees – no matter what they did, they were in a Nguyen situation.

  7. Been traveling regularly since 2001. As of today, I’ve never been present at the airport for a naked woman, a woman in a bikini, or even a woman being asked to “cover up”. I must be doing something wrong…

  8. I used to work at Bombay Airport (T1 now) between Feb. 1973 and Sept.1979 when the Airport caught fire. We had a small Traffic and an administrative office just above it on the mezzanine floor. We had a rest/locker room and a Toilet and Wash Basin. A few days before fire engulfed the Terminal and gutted it one afternoon when I went to the Wash Basin I saw a White Man fully naked taking bath with the help of water drawn with a Mug. The moment he saw me he ran away in that naked state outside and towards the Departure Immigration area. This probably happened on a Saturday afternoon and on the succeeding Monday afternoon I saw the person in a Suit travelling on our AI flight to Sydney.
