The internet thinks this is creepy but I think it’s sweet. You tell me what you think: a woman received a note from a pilot before her flight. She says “I’m sitting at the airport and a pilot just placed this on my table & walked away.” Her video has over 18 million views and counting with over 2.5 million likes. The note said,
I have seen the whole world and you are the most beautiful woman in it
@stephbohrer i didn’t even see his face
Everyone online seems to want the next chapter, but there doesn’t seem to be one. She says “I didn’t even see his face.” He didn’t come up to talk to her. He dropped the note and left. He didn’t return, and that’s why I take the note as sweet and a genuine compliment. Maybe he was looking for more, but this wasn’t ‘taking his shot.’
So when the internet says “you’re probably not the first to receive the same napkin that week,” “this guy does this all the time,” “he just carries a STACK of these in his pocket” and that he’s probably married… I just want to know, why you agro on it?
- I feel like a pilot on your flight wouldn’t be appropriate in doing this. He has authority over the aircraft, and should be focused on getting you to your destination safely. But here he’s just a person out in the (airport) world.
- And he’s not even hitting on her, since he never even speaks to her, and doesn’t provide a path for anything to happen.
- He just expresses appreciation. It may not be the deepest sentiment ever, but he’s struck by her and says so, and clearly it made her day. She’s not posting negatively about it.
More people should offer random acts of kindness towards strangers, without strings or ulterior motive.
Very pretty she is. File story under things that didn’t happen.
This is dumb
I’m with @Maryland on this one. Bah.
Innapropriate as it may still spook some women for a moment until they realize thats all he’s doing and already left.
But if this is the worst thing that happened to her that day, she’s a very lucky woman.
As someone who has investigated hundreds of harassment complaints his is Creepy. Totally inappropriate
It was a sweet gesture however, a little unsettling. As a woman I would feel complemented but wonder if he’s stalking me and would have my head on a swivel.
The guy sitting behind me DCA to PBI pushed cocktail napkin between the seats. For the first and only time, on landing I squeezed past everyone, and hid in the ladies room. I met him later that day officially as we both were in a wedding party. Awkward.
Just be happy that you got it from an admirer.
To each his own…
I have some doubts about the story but assuming it’s true. He wrote a nice note and moved on. Not normal but not super creepy. Sometimes a compliment is just a compliment. And yes a pilot can marvel at a beautiful woman for a few minutes and then go and fly a plane.
Tell me how many IG followers she has and I’ll tell you whether this really happened.
“I’ll take ‘Bovine Effluvia’ for $1000, Alex…”
Everyone! Look!! ‘Hot’ girl!
(Ignore our socio-economic collapse, pending global war, and the inevitable ecological disaster that follows… also, nearly all our beloved loyal programs are getting devalued into submission.)
Great post, Gary. Best ever. We’re truly in a ‘golden age’—America’s back!
If physical beauty is the measure, she is not #1, in my opinion.
The art of flirting has disappeared in the USA. I was surprised that it was still practiced in Vietnam when I visited there toward the end of 2020.
I got one of these once.
It said: “I have seen the whole world and you’re definitely not awful.”
My wife always appreciates someone telling her she looks nice, the outfit looks great, etc.
I often try to pay similar complements when I can. Not an attempt to hit on anyone, just a pay it forward effort to let someone else know they are noticed.
I’d love to get a note like that.
Wow……she IS very pretty but why all the HATE? WHY CAN’T WE COMPLIMENT PPL and MOVE ON? I HAVE NO PROBLEM TELLING ANOTHER WOMAN SHE LOOKS GOOD OR A MAN THAT HE DOES AND IT DOESN’T MEAN ANYTHING BUT THAT! It’s not like he left his # or sent her a dick Pic Steph Bohrer You Are Beautiful Girl keep Shining!
A) Creepy not kind. He has no connection to her and no right to judge her appearance.
B) She’s obviously a beautiful woman so whether this really happened or not, why post it online unless you are insecure or in love with yourself?
C) Nobody’s lips are that plump normally without injections so there’s some science at work here.
D) He’s abusing his position to impress her. Whether he’s flying or not at that moment, pretty unprofessional and cheap.
I’ve been to over 100 countries, probably more than this pilot. Maybe I should try this line on my wife.
THE PILOT IS DEFINITELY GAY. FIGURE IT OUT FOLKS.
I think the ‘beautiful woman’ note left by a pilot is incredibly sweet. He probably is happily married, but he’s not blind and he still appreciates beauty when he sees it. Just charming. I remember watching two guys sitting several rows in front of me on a Virgin Atlantic flight in Upper Class. One was brunette, other was blonde. They spent a lot of time standing up talking to each other across the aisle. They were incredibly gorgeous. Even tho happily married, I literally enjoyed looking at them. A gorgeous human, a beautiful horse, a cute baby, a masterful painting … some of us are lucky to be born appreciating beauty for it’s own sake..
Gary, just because you would be flattered if people paid you a compliment doesn’t mean actually attractive people would be. If she actually is as beautiful as the note suggests, it’s just another person annoyingly intruding on her life. She’s heard it before. It isn’t magic. Being beautiful isn’t even a talent.
@Matt — Are you the same Matt that makes the ‘consider Delta’ comments? If so, I’m a huge fan, and I’d have gone with: ‘For those seeking a nice ‘note’ from a pilot, consider Delta.’ And, if you’re a different ‘Matt,’ here’s a nice ‘note’ anyway: Looking good, sir!
Why so many people find thus creepy .i think is charming .he wasnt stalking her .he just wanted to pay a compliment. He must be European . Americans are too obtuse for the most part .and everything is sexual. .once I told a girl she was gorgeous, stunning, .and I’m heterosexual. I just admire beauty without any sexual desire attached. Withbso many weird looking people around one can say the girl has beautiful face.
You think it’s sweet right? Let’s hand such notes to your wife and then see if your opinion changes.
In our day and age where everyone takes offense at everything, it’s nice to see a simple compliment doesn’t end up is a lawsuit.
I posted my previous comment before reading the others.
Nope,
we are still just a bunch of self centered haters.
The cat is beautiful.
A compliment, a smile, a cheerful greeting….and offer to assist, a celebration of our shared humanity..
Shoot. That’s what our beloved industry is all about! ( aviation). Or have we forgotten….?
Awesome! The first thing we have to admit is, the young lady is beautiful, so he passed the eye test to keep flying. We as Americans have small minds because many of us have never seen how people live abroad. He showed CLASS.
It’s creepy and doing it while on the job is stupid. I’d write it up if he worked for me.
It’s a bit chauvanist and geeky on the part of the guy. Almost like patting her on the head like a less-worldly child. Glad that she was flattered, but I would have mixed feelings.
For Christ’s sake! Can’t a person leave a compliment without all the pearl clutchers screaming “creepy”? A very nice gesture with no attachments. As crappy and polarized as the world is today maybe we need more gestures like this one! The other day I complimented a woman in a grocery store on how cute her two kids were and she looked at me like I was a monster just waiting to grab her kids out of the cart right before her eyes! It’s the world that’s getting creepy!
I recognize the handwriting!
I agree with DOUG who previously left two comments above.
A compliment always makes my day and I don’t mind compliments no matter how many times I hear them..
He just left a note and didn’t even let himself be seen-so why all the negativity from people?
AND A RESPONSE TO LARRY-She posted the note because it was a very beautiful note in my opinion and not because she was in love with herself or to increase her viewership like others think.
I was complimented that I had beautiful eyes sitting at the bus stop at 3:00 a.m. by another dude I didn’t feel creeped out I was flattered I thanked him and he moved on why are so many people freaked out by a compliment a compliment is a compliment It’s just that the guy didn’t stop He didn’t try to get her number he didn’t leave his number He just left her a compliment and moved on It was a nice gesture for anyone that’s grossed out at creeped out by it grow up get a life.
Wonderful compliment and true. Probably made her day. Our country is so divided we have to fight over the meaning of a compliment.
Very nice compliment and true. Probably made her day. Our country is so divided were fighting over this compliment.
Mother Nature is a very strong force.
It was a very kind gesture that showed appreciation of her beauty without being creepy. He didn’t leave a number, didn’t try to start an unwanted conversation, but simply walked on.
How she acts following said compliment will truly show her inner beauty or lack thereof. Was it necessary to post that a man, having seen the entire world, picked you out as the number one most beautiful? Sure, it was a kind gesture, but let’s hope it doesn’t go to her head. Seeing that it was immediately posted and she’s very fond of her own reflection is quite telling in itself.
