Delta opened their new SkyClub in Seattle minutes ago. I couldn’t make it to the preview event yesterday (believe me, I was shocked to be invited to a Delta event!) but I asked for photos and the lounge’s food menu. And I’m really impressed.
The club is near gate A1 at the intersection of the A and B concourses. This is one of Delta’s largest clubs at 21,000 square feet and with seating for over 400.

And it’s stunning. It features 30 foot ceilings and a mezzanine level. There’s art from local galleries, and runway and tarmac views as well as Mount Rainier views like the existing Delta South Satellite club has.
Apparently the glass they’ve used “tint intelligently in concert with the HVAC system” to reduce glare and control temperature efficiently.

Remember that if you have the Platinum Card® from American Express then you have access to this lounge when flying Delta.
The kind of competition we’ve seen between Delta and Alaska in Seattle has been spectacular for customers, with generous mileage offers and flight choices and clearly explains the investment in a second club lounge and one they’ve done so nicely.
As part of that competition Delta has tried to position itself as part of the local community, even though that’s clearly Alaska’s turf. So they’ve designed it with the Pacific Northwest in mind.

The lounge has six showers and spa services by Asanda Spa Lounge (these are charged, not complimentary).

In addition to standard lounge fare (“bagels, hard boiled eggs and yogurt with toppings for breakfast and soups, salads, veggies, crackers, dips, fruit and snacks throughout the day”), there’s “Beecher’s “World’s Best” Mac & Cheese, made with a combination of its Flagship and Just Jack cheeses” as part of the buffet. There’s also food for purchase from local James Beard award winner Ethan Stowell.
The bar in the lounge features Washington wines such as Chateau Ste Michelle and cocktails from local brands like Glass Vodka and Westland Distilleries plus Starbucks coffee and Georgetown Lucille IPA beer. Some might even think they’re trying to hard to brand themselves as locals.
As a long time loyal AS flyer I am somewhat disappointed this club is beautiful, while AS continues with old dated over crowded Board Rooms. They have “plans” but a once great carrier for the FF is lagging behind it’s competitors in many ways, let’s hope.

I am going to be flying out of Seatac on Delta next Friday and would LOVE to find a way into this lounge. I decided not to renew my amex platinum so I lost that perk. Are there any other ways to get into this lounge?

American Airlines invested heavily into an SEA Admirals Club, then shut it down as fast as they finished the project. What a waste that was. Delta outsmarting AA here.
Does a first class Delta ticket get you in?
