I Flew Delta and Kinda Liked It (Still Not Sure I’d Do It Again)

Yesterday morning I wrote that I would be flying Delta domestically for the first time since 2010. While I’ve found SkyMiles to be the least rewarding major frequent flyer program in the US, even now that United and American have largely mirrored the model of moving to revenue-based earning, devalued award charts, and reduced availability, they’ve had the best airline operation of the US majors.

So you choose to fly Delta for flights that aren’t cancelled, and largely operate on time, not for the miles.

How Hyatt Stopped Competing for Most Guests and How Suite Upgrades are Changing Next Year

Hyatt’s new World of Hyatt program changes starting March 1 are surely controversial. There’s no change to earning and burning points, so it doesn’t change much for the non-elite member.

For elites though — those who stay most often may benefit, may not, the devil is in these details. And for those staying 30 or even 50 nights, they lose out as Hyatt becomes far less competitive than offerings from other chains.
