Hilton’s Honors program revamp is up and running. They’ve completed the transition to a pseudo-revenue based program. They eliminated award charts, but of course they had already varied pricing of expensive hotels now they’re doing it for all hotels and allowing prices to flex down as well as up.

British Airways to Offer Less Legroom Than Ryanair, Seriously Why Would You Ever Fly Them in Europe?
British Airways announced significant seat ‘densification’ — adding a bunch of seats into the current planes, which necessarily means less room for customers than there is today.
And their planes are already plenty dense. British Airways arguably has the worst lie flat business class seat in the industry at 8-abreast on their Boeing 777s.
Leaked Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan Changes for Travel on Virgin America
Here are the leaked details of an announcement expected today by Alaska Airlines about the elite benefits that are coming for travel on Virgin America.
FARE ALERT $283 Roundtrip DC – Dubai, Great Illustration of a Money-Saving Trick
The major reason I’m writing about this fare is because it’s super interesting. The US Government Just Sent a New Worldwide Travel Security Caution
I’ve always found US government travel warnings to be overly cautious. I have no problem transiting the Istanbul airport, booking an award on Turkish Airlines (just hope your seat opponent doesn’t whisper to a flight attendant that you’re a Gulenist).
Since I’m willing to go places like this, it seems worth highlighting a counterpoint. The government doesn’t say ‘don’t go to Mexico’ just that there are some Bad Hombres™ there.

Europe is Considering Requiring US Citizens to Get a Visa to Visit. What Does That Mean for You?
The European Parliament voted to call on the EU’s executive branch to force Americans to apply for visas in order to visit Europe.
European lawmakers set a May deadline, so that this would affect American summer vacations — they want to be punitive .
I Got an Upgrade This Week I Didn’t Deserve
I was in Las Vegas Thursday morning taping something for a television network. We wrapped earlier than expected and I headed to the airport with the show’s producer. And since I didn’t want to spend 3 hours in the Centurion lounge if I didn’t have to, I worked to get rebooked onto an earlier flight.
