Fly American’s New Casablanca Flight in Business From $772 Roundtrip

American Airlines is launching summer seasonal service between Casablanca, Morocco and Philadelphia with a Boeing 757 offering lie flat seats in business class. This leverages their new oneworld partnership with Royal Air Maroc, that will allow for connections around Africa and the Mideast.

American has filed a really cheap fare originating in Casablanca, as noticed by Notiflyr who points out you can fly from Casablanca to myriad cities in the U.S. and back.

Interestingly you don’t have to take American’s Philadelphia – Casablanca flight to take advantage of this fare. You can route onto their Madrid – Charlotte flight which offers direct aisle access business class seats (American’s 757 on the Philadelphia – Casablanca route offers 2-2 seating).

In fact routing through Madrid both ways even saves money as well as generating a lower price.

This is a $124 fare in each direction, plus taxes and surcharges.

Key details of fare basis INN5R7S4:

  • 50 day advance purchase required
  • 7 day minimum trip
  • $450 change fee

American AAdvantage awards miles based on price of the ticket, however an “I fare” earns 2 elite qualifying miles per mile flown. A roundtrip is about 9000 miles so around 18,000 qualifying miles — making this about 4 cents per qualifying miles. And the fare reportedly works to Alaska and Hawaii for even more flown miles.

American international flights can be credited to Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan, with I fares receiving a 50% class of service bonus. For other ideas visit WhereToCredit.com. Cathay Pacific’s Asia Miles and Etihad Guest also award 150% of miles flown.

  1. Quick Update: Routing through madrid changes everything. Use Multicity search if needed, but it’s available even starting TOMORROW if you book R fares through madrid. and some OTA’s are ignoring HIP check, so you can get several additional segments. CMN-MAD-DFW-HNL-rt $1200
Can even throw in some stops in SFO/SEA/etc. Play around with routings.

  2. This is the second time this month notiflyr got me a killer deal.

The routing is superflexible and also works to secondary markets, not just DFW, LAX, ORD

  3. Well price is good, but from Casablanca…. you may find cheap business class flights from Tunis all the year, but nevertheless I wouldn’t start my travel from there.

  4. I am guessing you have to get over to Casablanca to start this trip? Even searching that way and trying all kinds of combinations, I couldn’t find this deal…
