British Airways is offering $50 off $300+ or $100 off $600+ purchases made by October 28 for travel through March 30, 2020 (here’s the £100 version and the €100 version).
- You do not already need to be a British Airways Executive Club member, but you do need to join.
- You’re supposed to have gotten the promotional offer by email to be eligible, but there’s no verification of this at purchase.
The website gives you the promotion codes: FLYBA50US for $50 off a minimum spend of $300 per person or FLYBA100US for $100 off a minimum spend of $600 per person.
Yet to be officially ‘eligible’ you are supposed to be an “employee[..] of selected corporations and have received these promotional codes from British Airways.” While they don’t appear to check this up front they say they reserve “the right to verify.”
It seems as though they don’t really care whether or not purchasers are employees of targeted companies, unless the code goes viral and they decide later to care. Perhaps since they aren’t tying eligibility to pre-existing mileage accounts it would just be ‘hard’ to restrict eligibility. What a strange way to run a promotion.
