News and notes from around the interweb:
- Marriott has settled Pennsylvania’s resort fee lawsuit promising to show all-in pricing “on the first page of its booking website as part of the total room rate” within 9 months.
This only gets a bit item because it’s not clear what, if anything changes. Marriott already has a check box to toggle all-in pricing on the Marriott.com hotel search display. Do they just remove the untoggled option? Toggle it by default?
Marriott hotels will continue to charge resort fees, Bonvoy redemptions will continue to be taxed by resort fees, and consumers comparing hotels across chains (which can only happen off of Marriott.com) will still see room rates for Marriott and other properties artificially lower than what they’ll actually be charged (and what’s displayed on the final checkout screen).
- This woman steals tampons from airplane lavatories. What?

- People take the wrong luggage from baggage claim (I remember when New York airports checked baggage claim tickets years ago) but… taking the wrong kind of pet shipped as cargo?
To clarify – AA Cargo first gave me another dog. We then had to wait for ‘my cat’ to be brought back.
They brought out a cat, which was not ours. Puka (our cat) had been given to a third party, who was driving her to California. (They were reached when they were in Oregon.)— Michelle Lee Brown (@Tygerlil13) November 21, 2021
