Marriott says they’ll be offering 20 Bonvoy points per dollar on bookings made through their Homes & Villas by Marriott International site from February 9th to February 11th. That’s four times the usual number of points.
These bookings qualify as Marriott spend for bonus earnings with their cobrand card (6 points per dollar) but in general you’re better off earning 3+ points per dollar with a transferrable currency.
Since I value Marriott points at 60 basis points, 20 Marriott points per dollar works out to a 12% rebate. If you earn 3 Chase points per dollar on the booking (perhaps 175 basis points each) you can wind up with over 17% back on homeshares booked through Marriott’s portal during this three day period.
You should always comparison shop as Marriott may not offer the best deal. I’ve found similar-priced properties on other vacation rental sites that offered better locations, for instance. And if you have Wyndham points compare redeeming 15,000 points per bedroom per night for what may be the same property (if the particular Marriott home rental you’re looking at is sourced through Vacasa).
That sounds like quite a bargain to take advantage of at the Marriott Hotel.
For those who know: there is always a $500 (or 500 Euro) security deposit tacked onto the rate and reflected in the total, as seen below.
When do you get your deposit back?
244.43 x 7 nights
1,711.00 EUR*
Security Deposit
500.00 EUR*
Cleaning Fee
75.00 EUR*
Taxes
None
Total
2,286.00 EUR*
billed as2,549.12 USD
…but then you have to stay at a property that associates with Marriott (even worse, it’s not even managed by Marriott).
No thanks.
Rather stay with Marriott than with Airbnb
Airbnb what they did to Michelle Malkin is unconscionable
Unconscionable to take away the privilege of housing just because somebody gave a peaceful lawful speech at a peaceful lawful event
I hate white supremacy but it is vital to democracy that their speech is allowed as much as their black panther counterparts
Stop saying freedom of speech is just for the government, it’s a value all decent societies should live by, just because a private business is not forced to abide by it, doesn’t mean they get a moral pass for dispensing with it
Let’s not forget points are owned by Marriott not the customer so earning so many bonus points is enriching a company that is our best defense against the unconscionablility of Airbnb
Do these nights count towards the double elite nights promotion?
Can stack with the Aadvantage Shopping Portal as well for those chasing Loyalty Points.
Looks like someone in this comments section is desperately craving attention. L 😛 L!
had a $200 off $1000 purchase on my amex offers for this also. Still, not that many great deals here.
