News and notes from around the interweb:
- What in the wide wide world of sports is he thinking?
@AmericanAir shout out to flight attendant Jay on my flight to Chicago. He helped film a cool video of me doing pushups in the sky! pic.twitter.com/AOou9NqaUZ

- I get that American believes actually cleaning planes between flights might risk an on-time departure but come on.
@americanair Just got to my seat at DFW and there is a whole sandwich in my seat pocket…gross! pic.twitter.com/KHcmkbFAPG

- The fuel surcharges make using Emirates miles for long haul award travel on United a bad idea. Emirates Skywards has become such a poor program overall, sadly.
You can book that exact same award through United for 62,600 miles (drops to 60k if you book a few weeks in advance) plus just $5.60.
Or 60k Air Canada Aeroplan points plus C$76 ($56). Or 63k LifeMiles plus $51.70 (after added $25 redemption fee). pic.twitter.com/mWqGVqPCVX

- China causes foreign governments to investigate its dissidents living abroad for terrorism by booking hotels under their names and then having someone impersonate them to call in a bomb threat.
- Air India introducing Tumi amenity kits and pajamas
- Finnair replacing champagne with generic sparkling wine in short haul business class and eliminating pillows from long haul economy as it struggles due to being unable to use Russian airspace.
- Delta’s 14 million mile customer has nothing on United’s Tom Stuker.
I’ve had worse…like used Kleenex or apple cores…stuffed in seat pockets.
I’ve noticed it’s hit or miss on the frequency and timing of the FA walking up and down the aisle collecting “service items”. The announcements are sooooo bland, PAX ignore them.
