News and notes from around the interweb:
- Powering Planes With Microwaves Not Craziest Idea If you Don’t Mind Massive Ground Antennas And Fried Birds
- Virgin Atlantic passengers to pay green levy on every flight Biofuels will be expensive, governments are pushing them, so this makes customers see the cost though airlines won’t actually criticize the mandates. Plus they’ll probably be imposed on award travelers, as though Virgin’s fees aren’t already prohibitive enough to undermine the value of their rapidly devaluing loyalty program.
- Oy vey.
SLATER SCOOP: A passenger at Miami International Airport bit a police officer on Tuesday morning.
The bite sent the officer to the hospital.
It happened after cops were called to a ticket counter because the passenger threw a water bottle at an employee, I’m told.

Havoc and mayhem in Miami again. Was it Spirit Airlines or Delta?
You can find the boarding music of a lot of airlines, particularly the non-US airlines, on Spotify. I rather like a lot of it. Clearly designed to help you relax and put you in a good mood (after the zoo in the terminal).
Welcome to The Zoo that has become MIA.
Interesting report about the woman claiming the confrontation with the flight attendant caused her cancer to return. The story comments on the woman and her elderly husband, and the incident seems to have occurred about one day ago.
More interesting is that the elderly husband filed a divorce petition in April 2024. Maybe they want more assets to divide?

I was on American and a flight attendant turned me into a newt.
I wonder if Alaska Airlines will use an acoustic version of “I Feel Like I’m Fixin’ to Die Rag” by Joe and the Fish as a selection of their soothing boarding music. My second choice for premium boarding music is “They’re Coming to Take Me Away, Ha-Haaa” written and performed by Jerry Samuels (billed as Napoleon XIV),
View From the Wing readers will hopefully make additional music recommendations here.
Some of these comments are totally hilarious.
I was on a Airline and the Maile FA in First class turned me GAY .
He said he needed one more for a free toaster oven
Googling “Oksana Kiritchenko” and the husband…seem to be professional legal action folks…
Welcome to MIA!
