News and notes from around the interweb:
- They’re a global airline, and in some cultures this is a delicacy?

- Obviously a skit, but… “Man picks a fight with 75-year-old vet on an airplane”
- United told them they could wear these pins, and they’re wearing them.
Did we miss a flight path of yours to Palestine @united?
Or do you just not care about your Jewish passengers who are made to feel extremely uncomfortable on your flights?

To keep the people going …

- If SHI,T declines, then #2 on the list is HEI,R to the upgrade.
I got bored and started looking at the standby list for flights and I saw this

Bless those little critters that are catching a free ride in the food.
They are not the smartest, and has still not figured out the difference between an economy class meal and a premium class meal.
Not excusing the thief but who leaves $60k of watches in a bag unattended?
If you try posting about this incident on the Flyertalk United Airlines forum, maybe some of the mods will come after you for being critical of their pet airline.
But word is that NWIflyer/Rob has invited two site members to add one or two new moderators to the United forum there. Let’s hope it’s not going to be yet more airline apologists running the show there. It’s already a big problem there and just enables the travel service providers and the loyalty program operators to get away with less of the piling on of criticism that consumers need in this more concentrated market environment.
Flyertalk peaked in the early to maybe mid 2010s. I know no traveler under the age of 40 who still posts there. I know several who post on the subreddits of various airlines, plus r/awardtravel.
I registered my FT account in 2008 but haven’t logged in in almost a decade.
We will likely consume bugs more regularly and intentionally on society’s way to Soylent Green. It is disturbing to think of “food” facilities for airlines and the pesticides likely used on premises to keep bugs at bay. My guess is that the bug was just on the plane and made their way onto the plate. That feels like a different level of grossness than the FA plates something, there is a live bug under Saran Wrap and then is served with the bug.
That’s as disgusting as the whole airline…
Just eeeewwwww
That plate went into the oven for a while, so it’s alive state means it didn’t come from that plate. Maybe the salad or silverware, but not the entree.
@John H. most prefer their bugs cooked
