Bilt’s October Rent Day: Exclusive Tickets, Tasting Menus, And The Traps That Torch Your Points

So Bilt Rewards doesn’t offer 100%+ points transfer bonuses and elite status offers with partners every month. October 1’s Rent Day offers probably aren’t for readers of this blog – at least they shouldn’t be.

But Bilt is sharing that it’s worth opting into ‘Bilt Close Friends‘ in their app “for early access to new features” because they’re “launching into new categories in the next month, with Close Friends getting access to exclusive benefits.”

  • click your profile icon on the top right corner of the home page of the app
  • then you’ll see a tile about halfway down the page to apply for Close Friends.

Even in the offers you don’t take advantage of is a good reminder that you should be a member regardless, and link a card in their app to take advantage of bonus points on restaurant meals you’re eating anyway, spend with Walgreens and consider them for your Lyft earn (it comes down to whether you prefer their earn or Alaska’s though of course Bilt points also transfer to Alaska).

October’s “Rent Day” offers are:

  • Amazon.com Redemption Bonus Please don’t spend your points this way, but general members receive a 20% bonus redeeming points with Amazon while Silvers get 30%, Golds 40% and Platinums 50%. That’s still lighting your hard-earned points on fire.

  • Rent Credit Redemption Bonus (Targeted) Bonus of up to 75% for eligible members, don’t use your points this way. Use your points to offset travel at least, save money you would have spent, and use that money on rent instead – you’ll come out ahead even if targeted for the top bonus. (This one’s available September 25 through October 1st.)

  • Fitness Free classes wtih SoulCycle, Barry’s. Ok, some of us could be in better shape.

  • Dining 28 restaurants across New York, Miami, DC and Arlington, Dallas, and Belmont, California offering tasting menus on October 1, with bookings September 26 starting at Noon Eastern (11:50 a.m. for Golds and Platinums).

  • Comedy 19 venues across LA, New York, Nashville, Seattle, Somverville Mass., San Francisco, Denver, Philadphia, Boston, Atlanta, Austin, San Diego, Tampa, Chandler Arizona and Houston. Comedy club shows are $30/$40 (2,000 or 2,500 points) and include two drinks. Comedy ‘experiences’ are $75 (5,000 Bilt points) with drinks and lite bites. Events run throughout October. Bookings September 26 starting at Noon Eastern (11:50 a.m. for Golds and Platinums).
Leslie Jones: Live in 2025 tour dates in select cities. The ‘SNL’ alum and comedy powerhouse is bringing her unfiltered wit to intimate neighborhood venues, with member-exclusive pricing that’s not available through general ticket sales.

  • Bilt Cafe Complimentary stromboli from Scarpetta on October 1st, 8am–6pm while supplies last. This is at the coffee shop on the ground floor of Bilt’s current headquarters (they’re moving…).

  • Rent Free Game with SNL’s Leslie Jones (and… wait, there was a sequel to the iconic Coming To America?). Win free rent or Bilt points in the app.

  • Double Points with Bilt Mastercard on October 1 – 6X on Dining; 4x on Travel; 2x on other non-rent spend – capped at 1,000 bonus points.

Even without 150% bonuses to Air France KLM Flying Blue and Alaska Airlines MVP Gold status, it’s still a lot of offers and they keeping coming back with offers every month. So I think about Bilt a couple times a month wondering what next month will bring. I do love Rent Day, even though I haven’t rented in years.

  1. Watch out at Walgreens, when using your BILT card there to earn the bonus points, there’s a prompt that offers you to use your BILT points towards the purchase (bad value), and it seems like it’s one of those ‘click “yes” to proceed’ things, which would be a mistake. Select ‘no,’ and just pay with the card, not your points. Tricky… tricky…

  2. This month is a double . Nothing to impel me to spend other than the normal 2x points on Rent Day (which I’ve already maxxed out by scheduling my auto insurance payment on that day – not only do I save $1000+ by paying for all six months at once, but I get the 1000 extra Bilt points with no surcharge from my insurer).
But Rent Day in October is a double because it is Yom Kippur – the one day during the year when most Jews fast. So no restaurant extras or tastings this month, even if they were convenient (which they aren’t).

  3. Are the dining experiences targeted? I live 15 miles from Belmont, CA, but the only rent day dining experience the app will show me is at Pasquale Jones in NYC.
