Rocketmiles is running a one-day anniversary promotion, offering 5000 bonus miles on top of the usual miles earned for your reservation when you book a hotel stay between 8:00am and 9pm Central time on November 5 for a hotel stay completed by December 31 (check-out date).
You have to book through their anniversary promotion page and the offer isn’t stackable with any other bonuses such as a first-time booking referral bonus.
This bonus is good no matter which mileage-earning partner you choose:
It is, however, open to anyone to take advantage of. Unlike other recent offers this is not a first-time customer bonus. There’s a limit of one bonus per customer under this offer, however.
And they even have terms and conditions that say you can’t cancel an existing Rocketmiles booking and re-make that same booking to get the bonus.
When I heard this bonus was coming out yesterday, it was supposed to require a minimum two-night stay. I’m glad that it doesn’t (although that would still have been quite generous). In some cases you can pick up miles worth more than the cost of your stay with this promotion.
Definitely a good time to make a booking for stays consumed before the end of the year, and great that this is valid even for existing Rocketmiles customers.

Which hotel chains are know for giving stay credit even though the booking is made via a third side website? are there any? or are there some that will at least recognize elite status (even if not give stay credit?)…
They pumped up the price for the same hotel and date (more than double price) just for 2k miles more from 3k first booking bonus. Not worth for me. It seems like a cheating tactic.
I’m finding the same thing as Mr. N. Prices are minimum 50% more for the additional 2K.
Sux. Tried two different towns/cities and nada! Not one room available.
Same here. They jacked up the prices.
yep, nothing available at a reasonable rate in nothern Colorado, and nothing available for anything in Colorado Springs for dates I could do (and I checked a few dates). Looks like hotels are opting out from listings on Rocketmiles today.
Just a quick check for Santa Barbara on rocketmiles…yesterday the BW was $185/night, today, $207 per night, on BW website, $161/night. I guess it is a question of how much the 5000 miles are worth to you..FYI
They don’t even have options in Bengaluru (Bangalore), surrounding areas or Colombo, Sri Lanka. I would have swapped my CC stay at Park Plaza for a reasonably priced option in Bangalore at least.
@Tara – Rocketmiles focuses on a bit over 100 cities and isn’t comprehensive. Their model is to get good negotiated rates, and to try to publish rates that match what the hotels are currently publishing separately, and then use the difference to fund the miles
Yeah, I would have thought Bangalore would make the cut being one of the top business destinations in India (and not merely a gateway to Coorg, Wayanad & Mudumalai for people like me)! But they don’t seem to serve New Delhi or Mumbai either. Oh well!
