Via Secret Flying Norwegian is offering roundtrips between New York JFK and Stockholm from $276 in January and February.

Granted this is off-season, but the fares are amazing and you can fly elsewhere beyond Stockholm once you’ve positioned yourself.

Here’s a search that will pull up fares on Norwegian’s website between these cities (in Norwegian). If you want to see a fare calendar click “Lavpriskalenderen” (!).

So how much is 2308 NOK? It’s US$276.

Since this is being charged in a foreign currency, be sure to use a credit card that doesn’t add foreign transaction fees. I find that MasterCard currency conversions are the most reliably favorable. So my card of choice is Citi Prestige because:

  • No foreign transaction fees
  • MasterCard currency conversion
  • Triple points on airfare

Norwegian Air Shuttle operates the route with a Boeing 787. Here’s a good video summary of the experience:

They’re a low cost carrier but you do get free hand baggage with a weight limit although checked bags are charged. Also advance seat assignments are charged.

  1. O/W from FLL various days in the next 8 months to OSL $179-. To AMS $237 with layover in OSL. Again on a 787. Return from OSL to FLL again, $179. Cheap AMS>OSL fare of $49.

BTW Aeroflot and Condor also have a lot of cheap fares into MIA from various places in Europe, too, forthe next 8 months.
