You Know Where You Stand: Mistress’ Airline Tickets Edition

The New York Post excepted pieces of the Vanity Fair piece on Tiger Woods’ mistresses.

This bit from Jamie Jungers seems especially insightful:

Jungers said Tiger’s cheapness always bugged her. She recalled how Team Tiger always flew her on discount carrier Southwest Airlines and never in first class.

It’s not clear whether Jungers is contrasting Southwest with flying first class, or complaining that she never got to fly first class on Southwest. (Holly Hegeman seems to think it’s the latter, which would certainly be funnier for readers of this blog..).

But one imagines a woman in Jungers’ position might have read into the decision to fly her on Southwest a little bit about where she ultimately stood and where the future might leave her. Although I suppose flying Southwest could have been considered an investment in the likely future income stream to flow from a tell-all about her time with Tiger..

But a lesson here: if in a relationship with a married star, and that star doesn’t pony up for premium class travel, the star won’t ever leave their spouse for you.
