Back in December I wrote about an amazing fare on United partner and Star Alliance member Avianca offer Los Angeles to Madrid, Barcelona, and London for about $2000 in business class. Those fares are still available and they’re incredibly flexible.
Requirements:
- 21 day advance purchase
- $160 change fee
- $200 cancellation fee
Avianca’s 787 business class is fully flat reverse herringbone seats with direct aisle access – a very good hard product.
This is an Avianca Airbus — Not a Boeing 787
Many one-stop itineraries involve an overnight along the route, though this can in many caes be avoided with a double connection instead.
Here’s Los Angeles – Barcelona for $2032 roundtrip.
This is a $972 fare in each direction with no fuel surcharges.
You can do Los Angeles – Madrid:
You can fly into one city and back from another as well.
Fare is OK, but to connect in SA, not good. Sure cuts into vacation time.
I wonder if the fare allows u to spend a couple of days in Bogota.
I agree with Tony. BCN-BOG-LAX at 36+ hours in-transit time makes this much less of a bargain. Unless someone has always dreamed of a short visit to Bogota.
Good thing the seats are lay flat on the plane, as a lot of people will not sleep that well in Bogota, since it’s at nearly 9,000 feet.
Of course, nobody would click if Gary put “via BOG” in the header. Anyone who is willing to pay $2000 to fly business class is not going to take an absurd circuitous routing, unless they are on a mileage run.
It’s not a bad fare , but the seat length is 72 inches according to seat guru and i swear it’s less. i am 71 inches (no , not my waistline, that’s 75) and I cannot lie flat–not really even close.
