News and notes from around the interweb:
- $400 pay-to-use lounge in Frankfurt (HT: Alan H.) I was surprised to see that One Mile at a Time contributor Daniel has already been there.
- The Economist catches on to the recent travel order’s insistence on tracking passengers as they leave the country not just when they enter.
Sandwiched between sections on thwarting terrorists and tightening visa interviews is one that calls for “Expedited Completion of the Biometric Entry-Exit Tracking System.” The section directs the secretary of homeland security to complete and implement biometric tracking for “in-scope travelers,” which as Gary Leff, an air travel expert, explained to the Daily Beast, probably means all non-citizens entering or exiting the country.
- United really likes a new Boeing aircraft design that’s still an idea on paper.
- I never knew you could redeem miles for Thai Airways lounge access in Bangkok and by the way Citibank points transfer to Thai Airways Royal Orchid Plus.
- Cathay Pacific is adding a three-times weekly Airbus A350 flight to San Francisco starting October 31. Thank goodness it’s an additional flight, not replacing current aircraft, as it doesn’t offer a first class cabin.
Business Class is a Slightly Updated Version of This Cabin - Delta fined for inadequate food service during tarmac delays
I wonder which airlines offer first class passengers access to the Fraport lounge, as noted in the article.
Yes, thank goodness.
Actually the CX flight is replacing existing 3 class 77W. It’ll move to daily later too.
There are 3 flights, one four class 77W daily, one 3 class 77w daily, one 3x weekly 3 class 77w – that last one is what’s being replaced.
