Brit Morin lost her wedding/engagement ring on a United flight last week on United flight 1908 from Newark to Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
The ring was found. And more importantly it wasn’t kept and pawned or auctioned off on eBay, it was given to a pilot headed for San Francisco so that they could return the rings to Brit.
United’s pilot hand delivered the ring, along with a note:
So happy I was able to return this ring to you. From day to day, I take pride in getting passengers from point A to point B safely and on time. Today I’m happy to be able to be part of a team focused on making just one individual happy (you!). Congratulations on your engagement! From all of us at United Airlines!
Captain Jim Mooney
The cynic in me wonders why she took off her ring during the flight. She did, that was a mistake, but United made sure it didn’t cost her. Thanks from all of us, Captain Mooney (and your colleagues), for going the extra mile for a customer.
I lost my wedding/engagement rings last week somewhere between New York and Jackson Hole. A @United gate agent found it, put it in a safe, and then gave it to a pilot to HAND DELIVER it back to me in SF. I have a newfound faith in humanity and airlines 🙌🏼 Thanks United. pic.twitter.com/T342OGou5p

The cynic in you should realize that hand/foot swelling is exceedingly common on flights, making wearing a wedding band uncomfortable for some people.
Good story about a good deed. We need more of this in society
We need more details to this happy story – how did United identify her? Did she report it to the Lost and Found once she arrived Jackson Hole?
In any case, in today’s society we need a lot more of such good deeds – to restore our faith in kindness and humanity.
Nice.
I take my wedding ring off occasionally. Salty food and air travel swelling are frequent reasons.
