American Airlines is offering premium economy from $994 roundtrip between San Francisco and Hong Kong. That’s an amazing fare for not coach. It’s also broadly available.

Key details:

• Travel permitted Monday – Thursday in each direction
  
• Outbound travel must occur between August 15 and December 9, or between January 1 and May 23.
  
• 12 hour minimum stay, so it’s mileage runnable if you’re looking for status miles.
  
• Tickets must be issued by June 29 — but I don’t expect the fare to be around that long.
  
• $250 change fee

American’s premium economy is like domestic first class but with foot support, most seats have a foot bar beneath the seat in front of them (a feature Singapore Airlines offers in economy, by the way) while bulkhead seats have foot rests.
