American Airlines Elites Get 90 Days Of Free Hyatt Status

American Airlines AAdvantage elites – even mere Gold members – can register for Hyatt Explorist status for 90 days. Then there’s a path to keep status through February 2024,

  • 10 nights within 90 days for Explorist
  • Executive Platinum members (Update: and Platinum Pro members) who stay 20 nights in 90 days earn top tier Globalist

You can register any time until November 30, 2022 – so you should wait until you need the status to register. That’s because you’ll maximize the 90 day period with status, and also the window in which your stays can help you requalify. Remember that free night award stays count and also that you can transfer points from Chase or Bilt Rewards to Hyatt.

Explorist status is weak for a hotel chain mid-tier level, but it’s certainly better than not having status. It entitles you to 2 p.m. guaranteed late check-out at non-resort/convention properties, to upgrades (excluding suites), and to an MGM status match to Gold.

Comped an challenged status doesn’t come with night-based benefits like confirmed upgrades. But always better to stay with status than not status.

  1. Is this stackable with Chase Hyatt Business double nights, meaning only 10 nights would grant Globalist?

  2. Provide proof of your newly acquired Concierge Key status and you’ll get Globalist gratis.

  3. Due to Covid, I’m still working from home. Have both: Globalist AND Exec. Plat for many years, but will end next year/2023. I saw this and thought: Only 20 nights instead of 60 to renew my Globalist for 2023. It would have been doable from now, to Dec. But… when I clicked on it, after it recognizes that I already have AA & Hyatt linked, it by-passes the registration to the OFFER, and goes on to “make a reservation”. I guess that because I CURRENTLY have both high tiers, they are not offering this to people like me, more like to people who don’t currently have the high status, as an incentive to bring them in. I also tried the other idea of signing on for a NEW Hyatt Buss credit card (I wrote to you about this @ that link) and it seems like the NEW World of Hyatt card does give you 2x elite credits per night, BUT THEY ONLY COUNT TOWARDS 2022 AWARDS, NOT 2023 AWARDS.. 🙁 Any other ideas?
