The American Express Centurion lounge Charlotte opens on Monday. A week ago I shared that the lounge was close to completion. And this new lounge couldn’t come soon enough. American has ramped up to 700 daily flights and their two clubs are packed to the gills. It is largely impossible to get into the Priority Pass-eligible Minute Suites without an advance reservation.

  1. TGIF, Gary!

I would hope that the milk bread used in the milk bread french toast would be more of the famous variety, and not infamous. Can only imagine what it would take to be infamous bread. (I know that’s an AmEx typo, and not a Gary Leff generated error!)

My hit rate at Centurion Lounges is lagging…missed the PHX opening by a couple weeks, and JFK T4, well, that one’s not opening yet for another while…only a year late from the original press release!! I think DEN is my next chance to try a sparkling new Centurion.

  2. Great news. I was dreading my 3-hour connection @CLT on Tuesday even though I have access to the AA clubs. When will AA’s Flagship open?

  3. This is welcome news. The larger Admirals Lounge at CLT terminal C/D was full to capacity yesterday, despite the newly added boarding pass requirement. Hopefully, this will alleviate some of the congestion, though I fear much of that congestion will just transfer to the Centurion lounge.

Also, not to be pedantic, but the article says the lounge has a view of “downtown,” but in Charlotte it’s officially called “uptown.”

  4. Hallelujah! This is a welcome addition. This Centurion Lounge will likely become as crowded as the studio lounge in Seattle. It is the only option for non Admirals Club members and such members not flying AA. Being located between D and E makes it a hike for those departing on many of AA’s mainline flights which use the B and now even A Concourses.

  5. Where is the entrance to the lounge? I was just there and walked around the new food court, but didn’t see anywhere an entrance could be built.
