  1. Two nights at Guerney’s in late June is NOT even the high season (August) for Montauk. Good grief, charging that kind of money to hear the surf is almost extortion. I’d feel guilty about my wealth too if I willingly paid that kind of scam price. Perhaps, to make the wealthy Hampton suckers feel less guilty and more equitable, in 2025 or 2026 President Kamala Harris can get rid of resort fees and replace with, like in the UK, a 20 percent Value Added Tax.

  2. Well, rumor has it that after 10% was paid to the big guy by the leisure industry lobby, it was decided that customers need to pay their fair share…keep dreaming!!!

  3. Miraval has long had a 20% resort fee at all of their properties (thankfully not an issue when staying on WOH points).

  4. Hyatt Rio Grande also charges a 18% resort fee per night, with rates usually in the $500-600 area

  5. I think that a truth in advertising requirement for comparing the total cost per night is needed but don’t particularly think a 20% resort fee is out of line. Of course, at the room rate listed, I won’t be staying there in this lifetime.
