British Airways First Class $800 Or Less (!) Roundtrip, Prague – Cancun

Ken F. emails me about a roundtrip first class fare on British Airways between Prague and Cancun that’s running ~ $800.

The fare basis is ANN0S0Z1. It’s non-refundable with a 180 euro change fee.

That’s super cheap for British Airways first class, of course. Indeed, the fare rules highlight that it is a super/special fare.

Nonetheless, British Airways has been known to renege on such offers in the past. So don’t make other non-refundable travel plans around it. (And note that a US connection isn’t considered enough to trigger DOT protections such as they are.)

The fare is currently broadly available, for instance here’s a fare calendar for October.

You’d be looking at an itinerary something like…

Intriguingly the biggest part of the expense here is the fuel surcharge. Given the attention these tickets may attract I do not think I would attempt a ‘fuel dump’ to remove those surcharges.

I haven’t tried pricing it yet at BA.com with the AARP $400 off business and first class discount

  1. Very tempting fare since I will be in Prague next week, but the low fare is no available for departures on the two days I would need. Looks like it books on British Airways website.

  2. Pulled it up on BA.com and yes, it was there, but when I went through to book it changed the fare, added another zero to the Czech koruna.

  3. This post is a bit misleading or am I the only that noticed the flights (except in Europe) are operated by AA not BA. It’s a codeshare so you’re not getting BA first class.

  4. Do you set the home page as BA Czech Republic? I keyed in those dates, October 11 – 19th, with CR as home page, but getting 85,000K koruna prices one way??

  5. @ RYAN et. al… The BA.com site DID have it priced at 8500 Czech koruna for about 10-15 minutes, and while I had it at that price and double-checked my calendar the system added another zero, so I think the fare was amended shortly after being published. Also the promo code no longer works. So–fare gone.

  6. The itineraries I looked at were for British Airways PRG-LHR-MIA and AA MIA-CUN each way. BA LHR-MIA booked BA First ClassThere was availability nearly every date in September, except the two dates I needed to make the fare work for my time in Prague.

  7. I booked the PRA-LHR-DFW-CUN for my vacation over Memorial Day weekend. Since it stops in DFW I just need to get off and schedule a short flight home to AUS. Arriving home June 1st.

The plane is the AA 777-300 ER from LHR-DFW- first class. The PRA-LHR is the BA Airbus 319
