ANALogic Machines Slow Down Airport Security, Have Worst Name Ever

The hope is that by using these machines to allow passengers to leave liquids and electronics in their carry on bags the time per passenger in the regular (non-PreCheck) line will be reduced. Clearly somebody had to make a ton of money restoring our rights to where they were pre-August 2006, but did it really have to be Analogic considering the invasive nature of the TSA to begin with?

“You Have My Shirt On!” Man Confronts Luggage Thief In Atlanta Airport

Jameel Reid flew from Los Angeles to Atlanta and waited for his luggage at baggage claim. Atlanta residents aren’t used to waiting half an hour for bags – Delta offers a 20 minute guarantee – so after 30 minutes he pulled out this phone and tracked the location of the missing bag which he’d left an Apple Airtag in. The bag was already outside the airport.

Two days later he saw his bag’s airtag location returned to the airport, so he went back himself and contacted airport police.

Does It Matter If An Airport’s Management Is Corrupt Or Incompetent?

Some of the most successful airports in the country are also frequently considered to be among the least well run or most corrupt. I’d put the New York area airports (Port Authority of New York New Jersey), Washington Dulles and National Airports (Washington Metropolitan Airports Authority), Atlanta and Detroit in this camp.

FAA Administrator Nominee Goes 0-For-7 In Aviation Policy Quiz

During Senate confirmation hearings for President Biden’s nominee to lead the FAA, Senator Ted Budd (R-NC) asked a rapid fire set of questions that amounted to a knowledge quiz. It was awkward both listening to the questions, as Budd tried to appear as though he’s an expert in the asking, and listening to the answers as Washington knew the answers to exactly zero of them.

And in answering it was clear he didn’t have enough familiarity with the issues to speak about them more generally, even if he didn’t exactly follow the questions.

New Kansas City Airport Terminal Creates Controversy With Gender Neutral Bathrooms

The reason I shrug my shoulders a bit at the new Kansas City airport terminal is because it’s Kansas City. You go there if you want barbecue that hides the quality of meat and the cooking technique with a thick tomato-based sauce.

If you’re Kansas City and want to be part of the national conversation, you make sure your new airport terminal has… gender-neutral bathrooms.
