Watch Lightning Strike from Inside the Cabin While Passengers Endure 15 Minutes of Turbulence

Saturday afternoon Cathay Pacific flight CX360 from Hong Kong to Shanghai took off just in advance of the worst of the region’s storms.

Lightning was filmed from inside the cabin striking one of the aircraft’s wings. It also damaged the plane’s nose. Reportedly the plane “was rattled by turbulence for a solid 15 minutes” flying through the storm.

Airline Goes Out of Their Way to Help Ungrateful Family (The Perils of Basic Economy)

What obligation does a passenger have to understand their fare, and how what they’re buying will meet their needs (or not)?

And while It’s fair to blame airlines for a lot of how we experience travel, don’t we also have to take some responsibility for ourselves? The whole experience would be better for everyone, all around, if we’d practice gratefulness.

US Government is Going to Clamp Down on Cuba Travel – Again

Under the Obama administration the US relaxed rules on citizens traveling to and spending money in Cuba. They even reached an agreement to put air marshals on planes so air marshals could party in Havana and Americans were allowed to bring back unlimited Cuban cigars from their travels.

The new Trump administration though moved to crack down on the ability of Americans to travel there. These travel restrictions required Americans to go as part of organized tours and forbade spending money anywhere owned by the military. Now get ready for a new round of even tougher restrictions on traveling to Cuba.
